Erica has it out with Liza, accusing them of the murder and trying to place the blame on Kendall. Colby can't help but be affected when Liza tries to reach out to her. Erica asks Adam how he views her; does he have feelings for her? Amanda has false contractions. Krystal is disgusted when she comes upon David offering Jake money to buy Amanda's baby. A repentant David admits to Krystal that he can't stop himself from doing horrible things but she removes her wedding ring and walks out on him. Liza comes to a decision after an encounter with a teary Amanda, who wishes she could keep her baby - Liza decides to not go through with raising Amanda's child, and tells Jake so. Colby overhears Liza talking to Jake and learns he was supposed to have been her father. Scott and JR agree to act as brothers in honor of Stuart. Marissa clearly has an interest in Scott, but also bonds with JR. Kendall finds herself in a jail call next to Annie, who oddly gives her good advice. Jack tells Kendall she should enter a plea to get a reduced sentence, and Kendall strongly considers it.

Kendall is furious to overhear Liza tell Jesse she pinned Stuart's murder on Kendall because she (Liza) slept with Zach. Kendall is arrested. Erica and Ryan are worried for Kendall, and are shocked to see her brought into the police station. Ryan is released and swears to protect Kendall. Kendall goes into her cell, and sees that Annie is in the cell next to her. Jake tries to cheer Amanda up. Amanda mentions she's jealous of Liza (who she thinks is actually pregnant, not realizing Liza is planning on raising Amanda's baby). Jake tells her to be careful of Liza. Pine Valley gathers to say goodbye to Stuart. Marissa encourages Scott, who was too upset to speak, to publicly remember his father. Scott, JR, Tad and Adam give loving tributes. Marian tells Adam she doesn't blame him for Stuart's death. Adam says that he will act like a father to Scott as a way to honor Stuart.

Jesse is certain Zach only confessed to murder to protect Kendall. Erica is starting to believe that Kendall is guilty. Adam attacks Kendall for killing Stuart, but Kendall says that Stuart's death is Adam's own fault. Liza encounters Adam and the animosity between them is as strong as ever. Colby tells Adam that Liza asked her to be her alibi for Stuart's death. Liza tells Zach that she told Jesse she witnessed Kendall at the scene of the crime. Zach orders her to recant her statement or he'll expose her fake pregnancy. Liza does so, but Jesse arrests Kendall anyway, but not before Kendall overhears Liza admitting she slept with Zach AND that she pinned the murder on Kendall. Amanda is left chilled by a visit from David, who makes it clear he's going to stake his claim to their baby. Tad is acting rather peculiar still.

Jesse questions Liza, who points the finger at Kendall when she says she saw Kendall holding a gun on the night of the murder. Ryan and Kendall try to dissuade Zach from going through with the hearing. Jesse starts to suspect Kendall is guilty of the crime, and sees Ryan actively trying to interfere so he arrests him on obstruction of justice charges. Zach is sentenced to prison after pleading guilty. Kendall and Zach have discrepencies in their alibi's and accounts on the night of the murder, leading Jesse to be more convinced that Kendall is guilty of Stuart's murder. He wrestles with whether to arrest her, since she'd be separated from her child that needs her. Angie and Jake are confident they have the goods on David when they take him before the ethics committee at the hospital but a lying Nurse Gayle steps forward and takes the blame for his crimes. After paying Gayle off to care for a mysterious patient, David offers her a job taking care of a patient at a private facility in another town. Marissa's unexpected return gives Krystal hope that they might be able to form a relationship. David is also thrilled with Marissa's return. Liza provides comfort to her mother and to JR following Stuart's death.

After facing Jesse's questions, Liza asks Colby to back up her alibi for the night of the murder. Colby initially lies for her mother, but Jesse is dubious. Liza admits to Jesse to being in the Chandler mansion that night. but says while she didn't kill Stuart, she knows who did. Ryan overhears a dreaming Kendall murmur that Adam deserved to die. To protect Kendall, Zach makes a full confession to murder of Stuart. Annie is booked for kidnapping. Adam says goodbye to Stuart. Marian and Scott mourn Stuart together. Tad recovers from his collapse.

Annie saves Adam's life after he has a heart attack following his realization that Stuart probably died. Emma tells Annie she is proud of her, but wants to see Ryan. Wanting to do right by her daughter, Annie calls Ryan and does the right thing by taking Emma back home. After Ryan allows her to spend time with Emma, Annie appears to be on the road to redemption when she calls the police to turn herself in. Krystal pleads with David to run away with her but he refuses. Krystal realizes that Adam will be on a rampage after realizing Stuart is dead, and David better watch out. Tad and Liza share memories. Jake won't go along with Liza's plan to pass Amanda's baby off as her own but she remains undeterred. She even blackmails him to go along with it, or she'll tell David about their plans to fake his baby's death. Jake is furious. Tad's strange behavior leads him to dance with Nurse Gayle, and then collapse. Scott is devastated over his father's death. JR confirms to Adam that Stuart is dead and Adam cries out for his brother. Angie busts David and lets him know she is onto him poisoning Adam's pills and will prove it.

Liza reveals her identity to Zach, and tells him that while she isn't carrying this baby, she will have one: She's lying to protect an innocent baby and asks Zach to keep quiet. Zach doesn't want representation JR and Erica realize Stuart was killed, not Adam. Word spreads around town that Stuart is dead. Jesse thinks Zach is protecting Kendall. Scott is devastated to lose his father. Liza reaches out to Colby, who rejects her. Erica admits to Kendall that she was at the Mansion the night of the murder and saw Zach standing over Stuart's body Tad's behavior, post surgery, is alarmingly jovial Ryan searches the mansion for Annie and Emma and finds evidence they'd been in the attic. Adam convinces Annie to take him with her. They escape from the Chandler Mansion and hide out in Ryan's basement. Aidan comes face to face with Annie in the cellar at the penthouse. When Aidan tells Adam everyone thinks he's dead, Adam realizes Stuart must have died. He cries out for his brother and had a heart attack.

Although still skeptical of his story, Jesse arrests Zach when he refuses to back down from his claim he committed the murder. Jesse suspects Ryan could be involved in having helped in some way. Jesse questions Krystal, who covers for David. Later, Krystal tells David she covered for him. The surgeon cautions that Tad might suffer some long term effects after having the bullet removed from his brain. Erica denies being at the Chandler Mansion after Kendall sees her muddy shoes. JR must identify Adam's body and when he and Erica enter the morgue, is shocked to discover that the body is not his father's. Liza shows up to act as Zach's attorney and is surprisingly looking very pregnant. Annie is hiding out in the Chandler attic with Emma and an unconscious Adam.

Ryan leads Kendall away from the mansion before she can be busted by the cops and tells her Ian is alive. Kendall is shocked and thrilled to learn that Ian is still alive. Ryan warns her to keep quiet about being at the Chandler mansion. Later, Kendall tells Erica that Adam is dead. Erica's not very surprised and Kendall thinks Erica was at the Mansion when he was killed. Everyone is shocked that Adam is dead. Colby, JR and Scott all react. Jesse mistakes Tad for the killer and shoots him. Krystal thinks JR killed Adam, while JR thinks it was Annie. Aidan realizes Emma is missing and assumes Annie took her. A mysterious pair of female legs leaves the Chandler Mansion before the cops arrive. David gets Nurse Gayle to give him an alibi in exchange for agreeing to spend the night with her at some point. Zach, believing Kendall to be guilty, claims guilt for the shooting.

Adam's a marked man as several Pine Valley residents want to see him pay for his sins. JR spirals out of control but Tad manages to stop him from making a terrible mistake and shooting his father. JR comes across a gun wielding Annie inside the mansion. Krystal encounters Tad after almost shooting Adam. Aidan frees himself from Annie's restraints and heads to Adam's. David is out for revenge and heads to the Chandler Mansion with a gun. Tad sees Zach inside the mansion, armed with a gun. Jake and Angie work valiantly to get Ian's heart beating again and do so, but by the time they save him, Kendall and Zach believe their son is dead and have headed to the Chandlers for revenge. Unaware that Ian is still alive, Kendall wants vengeance for the child she thinks she's lost and aims a gun at Adam. A mystery woman enters the Chandler Mansion. At the end of the day, Kendall, Zach, David and unknown others have guns pointed at Adam. A shot is fire and Adam falls to the floor, seemingly dead.

Opal can't shake the unsettling feeling that someone's death is on the horizon. She even sees a bloody vision of Ryan. JR falls off the wagon after Adam informs him that he's leaving control of Chandler Enterprises to Scott in the event of his death. David blames Adam for poisoning Little A against him. Tad becomes more and more convinced that Adam killed Dixie. Zach and Kendall get the devastating news that Ian won't make it through the night. Kendall and Zach share a tacit look of understanding when Ian flat lines: They must kill Adam as revenge. Marissa tells Krystal that she doesn't hate her but still doesn't want anything to with either her or David. Marissa gets teary as she leaves town. Krystal heads off to confront Adam for ruining her life and she pulls a gun on him. A drunken JR wants vengeance for Dixie's death and for Adam giving Scott the company. He steals a gun that David was planning on using against Adam.

Erica busts Gayle, who doesn't admit to any wrongdoing but does tell Adam she arranged for another nurse for him. Zach attacks Adam, warning he'll kill him if Ian doesn't make it. Erica refuses to back up Adam's allegations that Zach threatened him when Jesse and the cops arrive on the scene. Knowing Jesse will be keeping Zach under scrutiny, Kendall promises Zach that she'll kill Adam if Ian doesn't survive. David tries to reach out to Marissa, claiming Krystal kept him in the dark as well but Marissa isn't about to accept either him or Krystal as family. Marissa later overhears Krystal making an emotional appeal to David as she explains why she sold Marissa at birth. JR is left unsettled when Marissa tells him she's Babe's twin and wishes she never would have said anything. Aidan tries to play Annie and almost succeeds in getting her to free him. Becoming more and more unhinged, Annie comes close to stabbing Aidan while insisting she's going to take Emma and run away with her.

At Babe's grave, Marissa puts the pieces together after seeing that she and Babe share the same date of birth and demands answers from Krystal, who admits she sold Marissa when she was born but insists she's always loved her. Marissa is furious with Krystal. Later, after a violent confrontation, Adam tells David that Marissa is his daughter. David confronts Krystal with the truth and could throttle her with his bare hands but Marissa arrives on the scene before things go any further. David tells Zach that Adam knew the experimental heart valve was defective. Ian is placed on a machine to keep him alive until he's strong enough for David to operate again. Kendall fears what Zach might do to Adam. Erica unleashes her fury on Adam when he admits he risked Ian's life in order to save his company. Although enraged, Erica intervenes when Gayle starts to give Adam his medication. Annie sneaks into the Chandler nursery to visit a sleeping Emma and later hides when Ryan enters.

Sensing something is seriously wrong with Ian, Zach yanks David away from Adam's reception and drags him back to the hospital. Zach becomes more certain that Adam and David are hiding something aboput the heart valve that Chandler developed (and was put in Ian) after learning of Dr. Chappell's suicide. Aidan convinces Opal that her mind is playing tricks on her when she sees Annie on Ryan's terrace. Aidan tries to talk Annie into fleeing immediately but she insists on seeing Emma. Aidan discovers that Annie is carrying a gun when her purse falls to the floor and both are unaware that something of Emma's has fallen under a piece of furniture inside Ryan's loft. After taking a fall down the stairs and hurting his shoulder (following a struggle with Annie), Aidan awakes to find that Annie has tied him up in the basement. Annie tells Aidan she'll come back for him as she makes it clear she's calling the shots now. Erica grows suspicious of Gayle and comes to realize that she's working for David. Krystal defends David when Marissa chastises him for using Little A as a bargaining chip before he agreed to perform Ian's surgery. Marissa later comes upon Krystal berating herself at Babe's grave (Krystal is berating herself for giving Marissa up at birth).

Adam basks in the success of Chandler Enterprises being on the upswing after Ian's operation. Adam dispatches Scott to give Dr. Chappell a huge check in order to buy his silence that the valve wasn't ready but the doctor won't be bribed. David informs Scott that he discovered a problem with the heart valve's design but was able to correct it during surgery. Scott is taken aback by Adam's ruthlessness where Dr. Chappell is concerned. Scott heads out to see Dr. Chappell and makes a gruesome discovery: The doctor has killed himself. Zach grows suspicious of David and his endorsement of the heart valve. David and Nurse Gayle conspire against Adam and plan to drug him more. Aidan gets word that his operative lost track of Annie. Both Opal and Aidan are in for a shock when she catches him snooping at Ryan's penthouse.

JR's blood boils when he realizes Adam used Little A as a bargaining chip to get David to agree to test their experimental heart valve on Ian (Adam promised David visits with Little A once a month). Dr. Chappell warns Adam and JR that he discovered a serious problem with the valve. JR makes a desperate call to Scott to have him stop the surgery but it's already too late. Zach and Kendall are on pins and needles as they wait for word on Ian. David gives everyone the good news that Ian made it through the surgery. Adam cautions JR and Scott to never breathe a word about Dr. Chappell's warnings. However, it seems David knows the valve was a fluke.
Jake and Amanda get romantic and end up in bed. Krystal shocks Tad when she confides her secret with him (that Marissa is her daughter and Krystal sold her at birth) but insists neither David nor Marissa can ever learn the truth.

Zach correctly points out that David is reluctant to test Scott's experimental heart valve on Ian because he doesn't want to do anything that could potentially help Adam and Chandler Enterprises. After learning the reason why David is refusing to operate on Ian, Erica demands that Adam do whatever it takes to change David's mind. Adam meets with David, who ends up agreeing to perform the surgery. JR assumes that Adam has agreed to give over Little Adam to David in order to get David to do the surgery. Zach and Kendall give David the go ahead to operate on their son. Brot shares what he found out with Jesse, Angie, Randi and Taylor, telling them that Frankie's hands were crushed when his unit was attacked. Frankie's family struggles to be patient as they wait for more news. Amanda plans on running away and leaves Jake a goodbye note. In the end, however, Amanda can't bring herself to leave Jake and returns home. Jake tells Amanda that he loves her.

Marissa abruptly moves out of Wildwind but leaves David the envelope containing the charred photo of her family Krystal tried to destroy. Krystal evades David's questions and doesn't confide her secret with him. Adam takes pleasure in torturing Krystal over her sordid secret and meets Marissa for the first time. Krystal warns Adam she'll kill him if he ever breathes about what he knows about her and her connection to Marissa: Specifically, that Marissa is her daughter and that Krystal sold her at birth! Joe tells Kendall and Zach that Ian will surely die if he doesn't receive a new heart valve in the very near future. JR is vastly opposed to Scott's suggestion that they should test their new heart valve out on Ian. Scott tells Zach and Kendall about the valve. Zach and Kendall are faced with an impossible decision as either option they're presented with doesn't guarantee Ian's life will be saved. David tells Zach and Kendall that he could successfully perform the surgery using Scott's experimental valve but doesn't agree to do so. Ryan holds his ground with Erica, flatly stating he and Kendall belong together. Frankie's family realize that his injuries are serious after getting word that he's being airlifted to Germany for treatment. Brot calls in a favor and learns the true extent of Frankie's injuries.

Krystal comes upon Tad as he's searching for evidence linking Adam to Dixie's murder. Tad breaks the combination to Adam's safe and discovers a file with information about Krystal. Realizing the file contains the damaging information Adam is holding over Krystal, Tad gives in to her pleas and hands it over to her without looking at its contents. Krystal later burns the envelope but Marissa sees the charred ashes and notices the remnants of a photo her and her family. JR remembers more about the day Dixie died after Tad tells him he suspects Adam might have been involved in her death. Marissa stops JR from taking a drink at ConFusion. Marissa defends JR to David, who makes it clear she'll be out on the street if she ever sides with JR. Zach rushes Ian to the hospital when he comes down with a fever. Kendall soon arrives at the hospital with Ryan at her side. Zach and Kendall get the distressing news that Ian needs surgery. Scott suggests to David that he should use his experimental heart valve on Ian. Erica once again tries to point out to Ryan that he needs to let Kendall go.

Opal continues to be plagued by horrifying visions and is certain something awful is going to happen. Stuart is troubled when he remembers Adam's behavior on the day Dixie was murdered. Adam suffers a seizure when JR lays into him, demanding to know whether or not he killed Dixie. Adam makes a startling confession to Erica: He can't remember if he killed Dixie. David has an ominous plan in store for Adam. Krystal overreacts when she walks in on Marissa giving David a back massage. Zach and Liza are mutually intrigued by one another. Liza once again leaves without telling Zach her name, but she does know who Zach is. Frankie's family fears the worst when they learn his convey has been ambushed but Brot and Taylor point out that Frankie is a skilled soldier who can take care of himself.
