Liza's shock quickly turns to anger when she puts everything together after Kendall makes her presence known. Liza denies Kendall's accusation that she wants Zach for herself, claiming she's over him. Kendall's certain Liza's going to rat her out to the District Attorney. Liza sets out to meet the District Attorney at the prison where he's planning on questioning "Kendall." Is she there to intercept him or out Kendall? Adam and Annie learn her trial has been scheduled to start that day. Ryan surprises everyone when he makes a plea on Annie's behalf at her trial, stating he believes she shouldn't be locked up. Ryan warns Annie that her real nightmare is just beginning after when she lets him know she's aware he's up to something. The judge, who's in Adam's pocket, gives Annie a six month sentence of out-patient treatment, basically making her a free woman. Aidan sneaks into the Chandler mansion and discovers the surveillance disc of Annie kissing both JR and Scott. Marissa stays by JR's side during his chemotherapy treatment. JR meets Trent, a fellow cancer patient. JR decides to take control of his own fate and has Marissa shave his head.

Zach reluctantly agrees to let Aidan help in his quest to prove Annie shot Stuart (after Aidan hints at revealing Kendall's out of prison if he doesn't). Liza's surprised to find Aidan at Zach's and is certain they're hiding something. Zach panics when Liza informs him she's arranged for the District Attorney to visit Kendall in prison to deal with a legal matter. Kendall makes her presence known to a stunned Liza, explaining that in order to stop the D.A. they need to come clean with Liza. Amanda's moved when she overhears David voicing his love for her and Trevor. Tad and Krystal urge Jake to fight for Amanda. Tad advises Amanda to come over and talk to Jake in person after he refuses to take her call. Jake questions where Tad and Krystal stand with each other. Ryan and Erica seem poised to become intimate until they're interrupted by Tad. After discussing their relationship, Erica and Ryan are both happy to explore what might happen between them. Brot gets under Natalia's skin with his decision to enroll in the police academy. Erica crowns Natalia and Brot the winners of the dance-a-thon.

Adam watches via the TV as Annie dances with Scott. Annie seductively toys with Scott, who jumps at the chance to end their dance. Adam tells Annie how Ryan claimed she said Emma shot Stuart but she maintains Ryan twisted her words around. Annie apologizes to Adam after jumping to the wrong conclusion when the cops arrive to escort her home. Adam enjoys the games he and Annie play with each other. Scott turns Ryan down when he broaches the idea of working together to prove Annie shot Stuart. Tad and Krystal try to talk sense into Amanda, who's falling deeper and deeper under David's spell of manipulation. Things heat up between Erica and Ryan and they begin to have sex. Brot knows how to get a rise out of Natalia - especially when Jesse stars to hint that he might hire Brot and make him Natalia's partner. Angie doesn't hide the fact she thinks Brot and Natalia are good together. Brot and Natalia are declared the winners of the dance marathon, thanks to Jesse and Angie purposefully stepping aside.

Amanda is honest with David when he asks her if she had been trying to play him. Amanda doesn't know what to make of David's new attitude after he tells her she and Jake can take Trevor for the night. A thrilled Amanda tells Jake. Jake storms off when Amanda defends David, unable to watch her fall under David's spell. After having to excuse himself from the competition (he collapsed and had a vision of Stuart), Adam insists that Scott take over for him and dance with Annie. Annie flirst with Scott, but Scott gives Annie a taste of her own medicine by telling her he won't be manipulated. Ryan tells Adam that Annie is clearly guilty of Stuart's murder, and deep down, Adam knows something sketchy is going on. After Erica questions Krystal on whether she'd get back together with Tad, Krystal wonders if Tad can ever forgive her for everything she's done. Brot stops Randi from assaulting Madison. The Hubbard family struggles to just ignore Madison. Brot and Natalia flirt through sniping with each other as Brot explores the idea of becomnig a cop.

David races out after the nanny alerts him to the fact that Jake took Trevor. Meanwhile, Amanda tries to convince Jake not to kidnap Trevor. David surprises everyone when instead of pressing charges against Jake, he offers to allow him to spend time with Amanda and Trevor at Wildwind. Amanda is suspicious, but David assures her he's on the up and up. Annie shuts down when she realizes Ryan is trying to get a confession out of her. Erica and Ryan agree they don't want to ruin what they have by talking about it. Adam collapses on the dance floor and wakes up to see Stuart. Zach pulls back from kissing Liza, who realizes she'll never win him away from Kendall. Liza severs all ties with Zach and quits Kendall's case. Madison continues to be a thorn in the Hubbard's side, even after Natalia threatens her. Randi comes face to face with Madison, who taunts and provokes her.

Jake flirts with the nanny in order to get close to Trevor. Jake plans on taking off with Trevor just as Amanda happens upon them. Madison blackmails Frankie into dancing with her. Angie would physically attack Madison but Frankie and Jesse hold her back. Madison demands that Frankie divorce Randi. Randi tells Frankie to give Madison what she wants. Natalia confronts Madison with murder in her eyes. Adam and Ryan break up Erica and Annie's catfight in the ladies room. Ryan surprises Erica by pulling n her into a steamy kiss. Ryan follows an upset Annie to the rooftop, certain he's on the verge of getting a confession out of her. A teary Annie asks Ryan if he'll protect her. Liza not so subtly makes it clear to Zach that she wants to be with him. Zach kisses Liza.

Aidan tells Zach and Kendall he figured everything out when he pulled some strings to visit Kendall and found a total stranger in her prison cell. Kendall narrowly avoids being spotted by Liza. Zach demands that Kendall return home with Aidan. Once back in the secret room, Aidan accuses Kendall of being jealous of Liza. On Zach's order, Aidan unplugs the TV and phone so Kendall can't watch the dance-a-thon. Ryan tells Annie that he'll keep Emma's secret that she's the killer, but says that to do so, he must pretend that he thinks Annie is the killer. Annie agrees. Zach knows Ryan got information from Annie, but Ryan refuses to divulge anything. The two clash. Ryan confides to Erica that he's working Annie to try and get a confession out of her. Erica tells Adam he better watch himself around a psycho like Annie. Annie insults Erica about hooking up with Ryan, leading Erica to slap her. Annie tells Adam she needs him to believe in her. Frankie calls Madison's bluff when she threatens to jump off the roof. Jesse tells Madison he knows she's really the one who killed North, warning her he'll send her to prison if she doesn't leave town. Randi thinks her troubles could be over with Madison leaving town but Frankie isn't as confident. Instead of leaving town as Jesse demanded, Madison surprises Frankie when she shows up back at Fusion with a tape recording of Randi incriminating herself for murder. Brot and Natalia grow closer as he admits he's growing bored with his job at the hospital.

Ryan pretends to believe Annie's claim that Emma shot Stuart and that she's been protecting their daughter all along. Ryan later tells Zach and Liza that he's playing Annie to try and get a confession out of her as he still believes she's the real killer. Zach's temper flares when Ryan refuses his help in going after Annie. Liza suggests to Zach that they team up with Ryan to go after Annie, but Zach refuses. After reaching her breaking point seeing Liza kissing Zach on TV (she kissed him so they'd get pledges and thus get a break from dancing), Kendall risks everything when she leaves the secret room and sneaks into ConFusion. Aidan catches Zach with Kendall in the audio booth at the marathon. Taylor explains to Frankie and Jesse how Randi just hauled off and hit her. Randi fears she's losing her mind but soon recovers from drinking the water Madison drugged. Madison threatens to jump off the roof when Frankie follows her up there. Amanda and Jake's staged fight takes a real toll on them. Jake fears he's going to lose Amanda in the end, and misses spending time with her and Trevor.

Madison drugs a bottle of water which she makes sure Frankie gets his hands on. Randi becomes disoriented after drinking the tainted water. In the ladies room, Randi mistakes Taylor for Madison. Jesse races off when he senses trouble and he and Frankie find Taylor unconscious on the bathroom floor. Scott and Adam discuss Annie. Adam admits to Scott he's not sure if Kendall shot Stuart, now that he's had flashes to the night Stuart was killed. Ryan continues to try to work Annie into revealing more about the night Stuart was killed. Emma calls Annie, and Ryan listens to her saying "I won't tell." Ryan knows Emma is hiding something. Jake and Amanda stage a fight as part of their plan to beat David at his own game but Jake might have taken things too far, as David catches Jake and Amanda together. JR and Marissa continue to be blissful. JR, weak from his illness, needs some support for Marissa while walking. Adam sees them and accuses JR of being drunk.

Watching Zach and Liza together infuriates Kendall. Not able to stand it any longer, Kendall calls Zach's cell phone but it's Liza who answers. Zach grabs the phone from Liza and hangs up on Kendall, angering her further. Ryan gets a rise out of Annie when he tells her there's no chance she'll ever get custody of Emma. Adam is bombarded with images of the night of Stuart's murder and has to leave the dance floor. Erica feigns injuring her ankle to give Ryan the chance to become Annie's new dance partner and get information from her. Annie warns Ryan she knows what he's up to. Annie abnd Erica clash. JR thinks Marissa wants to be with Scott, but she corrects him. JR and Marissa admit they're falling in love with each other and head to the roof, where they end up having sex. Jake sees the power Amanda has over David. He doesn't like seeing the two together. Madison is up to no good, lurking in the shadows and stalking Randi.

Ryan and Erica are stunned when Adam arrives at the Fusion Children's Hunger Project dance marathon with Annie, who's been allowed to attend the event. Adam reminds Erica of all the donation money her cause will lose out on if she and Ryan force him and Annie to leave. Annie and Erica exchange harsh words. Colby brings Emma to the party and she and Annie reunite. Ryan is not thrilled, and Ryan is suspicious that they have seen each other lately. Zach makes a show of wanting Annie and Emma to be together, as to earn Annie's trust. Kendall seethes upon learning that Liza is going to be Zach's partner during the dance marathon. Zach reminds Kendall the problems between them would still exist even if Liza had never returned to town. As she watches Zach and Liza on the televised broadcast, Kendall wonders if she and Zach still have a chance at a future together. Amanda explains to an incredulous Jake that she has to be David's partner in order to get closer to him so that he starts to let his guard down. Amanda tells Jake she plans on making David fall in love with her and then go in for the kill. Taylor covers her hurt when Tad explains he can't be her dance partner because he already agreed to act as the emcee. She just senses that he doesn't want to be with her. Brot asks Taylor to dance with him. Madison lurks in the shadows at the event. Opal has a disturbing vision of blood on the walls, a harbinger of bad things to come.

Annie privately panics when Adam wishes he could remember more about the night Stuart was shot. Scott questions Annie's motives for not wanting Adam to remember that fateful night. Scott can't stop thinking about Annie. Annie has a dream about Scott while in bed with Adam. After seeing how panicked Emma is while at the Chandler Mansion, Zach realizes she is the key to finding Stuart's true killer. Zach and Liza's attempts to get Emma to talk to them are blocked by the little girl - she won't let them question her or she'll tell Ryan that they took her to see Annie. Kendall convinces Spike to go downstairs before Liza discovers the secret room. Kendall accuses Zach of no longer believing in her innocence as her jealousy of Liza grows. Liza tells Zach about Spike saying "Mommy was in the wall" and explains that one of the walls upstairs is hollow. Zach makes up a lie, but it's unclear if Liza buys it. After Marissa makes him chicken soup, JR accuses her of treating him like an invalid, but they make up. JR's perplexed when Marissa suddenly takes off just as they were becoming passionate. At ConFusion, a teary Marissa admits to Scott that she's falling in love with JR. JR jumps to the wrong conclusion when he sees Marissa and Scott in an embrace. Frankie re-injures his hand while defending himself from Madison, who takes a swing at him with a heavy object. Madison flashes back to killing North as she's poised to strike Frankie again and runs from the room. Jesse fears Madison is on the warpath. However, the use of a bookend makes Jesse suspicious that maybe Madison killed North. Ryan, Erica and their staff make preparations to hold a charity dance marathon to raise money to benefit starving children. While there, Brot and Natalia clash.

Liza manages to get Emma over to Zach's. Although reluctant to do so, Zach convinces Emma to go to the mansion with him to visit Annie. Zach overhears Emma telling Annie she won't say anything to anyone about the accident. Adam ruminates on Stuart's death and how terrible he feels with his brother not there anymore. Meanwhile, Spike tells Liza that his mommy is inside the wall but she contributes it to his imagination as Zach's led her to believe. Kendall pulls Spike into the secret room with her after he runs off while Liza isn't looking. Liza searches the house for Spike and ends up directly outside the hollow panel leading to the secret room. She starts to feel the wall ... Jesse and Angie separately urge Frankie and Randi to try and work things out. Randi surprises Frankie when she tells him she thinks they should get a divorce but once they talk things out, they happily reconcile. Frankie's reinstated at the hospital after meeting with the board. Jesse threatens Madison to stay away from his family. Frankie angers Madison when he rebuffs her advances, saying no man could ever love her. Madison grabs a heavy object with fire in her eyes: Will she hit Frankie?

Responding to David's ultimatum (either you can help me raise our son or be with Jake but not see our boy), Amanda rips off the ring Jake gave and seemingly chooses her son over her husband. David taunts Jake, claiming Amanda will soon be his. Secretly, Amanda assures Jake she loves him and only him. Jake and Amanda are almost caught by David after making love. Taylor comes to believe Tad doesn't want to get serious with her. Tad admits to Liza he's afraid to get involved with anyone. Zach can't give Kendall the assurances she seeks but insists he has no romantic interest in Liza. Liza confesses to Tad she wants to be with Zach. Kendall almost gets caught by Liza. JR and Marissa get closer, laughing over their failed attempts to not mention babe or David. After initially claiming his odd behavior is due to his alcoholism, JR tells Marissa the truth about his cancer. Brot and Taylor reflect on how their lives changed after 9/11.

Erica refuses to cave in to the network's demands and loses her job as host of New Beginnings in the process. Erica's resolved to continue her mission of helping the starving children in Africa. Ryan offers to help her and the two share a dance at ConFusion. It inspires Erica with an idea. Ryan accuses Annie of having snatched Emma when she's no where to be found. Meanwhile, Emma surprises Zach when she shows up at his door. Liza urges Zach to use Emma to get to Annie but he's reluctant to do so. Zach tempts Annie by offering to arrange a visit between her and Emma. He's hopeful Annie will confide in him about the night Stuart was killed. Kendall grows more jealous of the time Liza and Zach spend together. Scott agrees to continue living at the Chandler Mansion, despite his attraction to Annie. David makes it clear to Amanda that Jake isn't allowed near her or the baby. Opal and Krystal stage a distraction to get David to the hospital in order to allow Jake to visit Amanda at Wildwind. Jake gives Amanda a wedding ring.When David learns, he goes ballistic. David gives Amanda an ultimatum, telling her she can have Jake or her son but not both.

Frankie angrily refuses to leave the casino with Jesse, deciding to stay and drink with Madison instead. Angie's out for blood when Jesse tells her and Randi what happened with Frankie and heads off to confront Madison. Meanwhile, Madison is uncharacteristically sympathetic to Frankie's troubles. Angie and Randi assume the worst when they arrive at the casino to see Madison leading a drunken Frankie upstairs. Randi seems resolved to the fact that she's lost her husband. Angie sees Frankie passed out on Madison's bed, Madison in her bra and assumes they've slept together (Madison doesn't disabuse her of this). Angie slaps her. Annie starts to open up to Zach about the night of Stuart's murder but soon shuts down when she suspects he's up to something. Zach assures Kendall he's making progress with Annie. Kendall questions how she and Zach can go on living like this after he pulls back from her kiss. Scott comes upon a teary Annie and they end up in a heated kiss. Marissa takes JR up on his offer to go away to his cabin with him. JR continues to hide his cancer from Marissa and Scott. Marissa complains that David is obsessed with his baby. Jake's furious that David is keeping him away from Trevor and Amanda. Amanda sees David's genuine love for their son.

Kendall insists to Zach and Jesse that Emma is the key to getting the goods on Annie. Zach pays a visit to Emma and tries to get some information out of her. Zach continues to try and gain Annie's trust. Adam spies on a close moment between Scott and Annie. Annie flirts with Scott but assures him her heart is with Adam. Madison puts the screws to Frankie, reminding him unless she gets money from him she will throw Randi and Jesse in jail for her husband's murder. The tension remains high between Frankie and Randi. Frankie storms off after arguing with Randi and ends up back at the casino. Frankie bristles when Jesse tries to drag him back home to his wife. Erica seems temporarily defeated when the network refuses to air the second part of her special episodes of New Beginnings on the plight of the children in Africa due to the poor ratings of the first installment. Defying her bosses, Erica takes a stand and makes an appeal about the importance of helping starving children around the world while New Beginnings is being broadcast live.

Jake threatens to shoot David. Amanda makes a deal with the devil when she takes David up on his offer, agreeing to move into Wildwind in order to be with her baby. Jake is furious. Krystal thinks she should move in to try to keep the peace. Amanda tells David that just because they're living together doesn't mean she likes him. JR asks Krystal to raise Little A should something happen to him but doesn't confide about his cancer. Zach continues to play Annie when he suggests they team up against Ryan. Annie doesn't completely trust Zach but thinks he might be able to help her get Emma away from Ryan. Adam asks Scott to be his best man at his wedding to Annie. Kendall apologizes to Zach for doubting him, but then overhears Erica telling Ryan she thinks Zach/Liza are having an affair.

David remains set on taking Trevor away from Jake and Amanda. After meeting with the District Attorney, Tad and Liza realize there is virtually no chance of Jake and Amanda being allowed to keep their son. David has a contract drawn up stating he won't press criminal charges against anyone in exchange for full custody of Trevor. He reminds Amanda of his offer - she can help raise Trevor if she moves in with him. Jake is furious about this, as is Krystal. Amanda finds Jake holding David at gunpoint. Frankie's at a loss over how to comfort Randi but Jesse seems to be able to get through to her.

Amanda turns to Krystal, filling her in on the whole truth about David and the situation with their baby. Marissa has conflicting feelings when Liza suggests she continue living with David at Wildwind to try and get something they can use against him in order to help Amanda keep custody of Trevor. David makes Amanda an offer, saying he'll drop all the charges against Jake if she moves in with him and they can raise their son together. Tad supports JR as he undergoes his first chemotherapy treatment. JR drops in on Marissa and although he makes it clear she's taken a hold on his heart, he can't bring himself to tell her about the cancer. Erica suspects Zach is up to something and/or hiding something. Ryan and Erica each remember the kiss they shared before she left for Africa. Kendall has a flashback to the night of Stuart's murder and remembers she didn't shoot him after all.

Believing Zach is squarely on Annie's side, Ryan announces he's taking Spike home to live with him. Kendall threatens to expose her presence to Ryan and Erica if Zach allows Ryan to take Spike away. David taunts Jake and Tad as they confess the entire truth to Jesse about faking baby Trevor's death. David demands that Jake be arrested, accusing him of a full list of crimes (including faking a death certificate). Jesse decides to hold Jake in a cell until he cools down. Amanda's heartbroken when Trevor's placed in foster care. David is confident he'll get custody of Trevor in the end and later implies to Liza that he has something wicked in store for everyone who helped keep his son from him. JR's determined that no one other than Tad find out about his cancer but wonders how long he'll be able to keep it a secret, especially from Marissa. He doesn't want Adam to know because he fears Adam may use this opportunity to try to get Little Adam taken away from him.
