Damon swears to Colby that he isn't responsible for the latest break-in attempt at the mansion and claims he was knocked out from behind when he tried to chase the guy who really did set off the alarm. Erica's uncharacteristically flustered when the reporters bombard her with questions about her and Ryan. Ryan tries to ease Erica's fears about them going public with their relationship. Greenlee sets out on a mission to track down Ryan after not finding him at his penthouse. She finds him and is about to walk in on him kissing Erica. Jesse and Angie both realize their marriage has hit a rough patch and decide to work it out by spending more time together. Liza confronts Adam after Colby tells her about the stipulations in his merit trust. Adam's not threatened at all. Liza's frustrated by Tad's continued closeness to Krystal.

Greenlee's anxious to reunite with Ryan but David warns her she's not physically ready to go back to Pine Valley. David's privately concerned about what could happen to Greenlee when she returns home to find that Ryan has moved on with Erica. Greenlee overhears Dr. Clayton telling David that she needs another month of bed rest. David returns to Greenlee's room to find her gone. Wanting to stake her claim as Mrs. Adam Chandler, Annie insists she and Adam attend Erica's bash at Confusion to launch Fusion's new Miranda cosmetics line. After some initial clashing, Colby and Damon grow closer. Erica's left with doubts about going public with her and Ryan's relationship after seeing a trashy tabloid headline about them.

Damon's certain Liza believes he's guilty of the recent rash on break-ins that have happened around town but she insists she's on his side. Bailey tries to convince Damon that Liza's only trying to help him as she beseeches him not to run away. Colby later catches Damon in her bedroom with a bag of loot he plans on stealing. Damon protests his innocence to Colby just as Adam arrives at her door. Adam's plan to set Colby up with someone he deems to be a suitable candidate for marriage backfires when Colby reads him the riot act for trying to dictate who she should fall in love with. Tad takes Krystal's advice and makes the first move to try and make amends with Liza after their argument. He fakes that he got arrested for flashing, making Liza laugh. They make up. Brot challenges Natalia to put work aside and enjoy herself. Natalia can't help but to be charmed by Brot when they encounter each other at the movies.

Jesse targets Damon as the prime suspect in the string of break-ins that have been occurring around town. Liza's furious with Tad when she comes to believe he pointed Jesse in Damon's direction. Frankie realizes Randi is volunteering at the Miranda Center not only to help women but to also score points with Erica. Randi tries to get past her doubts about being able to trust Madison. Erica applauds Randi's idea for Fusion's new ad campaign - to use women at the Miranda center to model for Fusion's new line of cosmetics. Greenlee can't stop herself from obsessing over the fact that Erica is in charge at Fusion. David knows Greenlee will be crushed when she learns that Ryan has moved on with his life. Greenlee dreams of reuniting with Ryan and taking back her company.

Adam's new will doesn't sit well with Annie, Colby and JR as they all see it as a way for him to try to control them indefinitely. Adam bequeaths Annie the mansion and property, along with a large financial settlement, but includes the provision that she'll lose practically everything should she ever get involved in a serious relationship after his death. Annie's stunned to realize that Adam's machinations are really a way to insure she and Scott never get involved. Jake's mortified when he walks in on a naked Liza emerging from the shower after making love with Tad but she and Tad take delight in his embarrassment. Jesse, Brot and Natalia arrive on the scene when someone breaks into Tad's house while Opal's there alone with the girls. Jesse would give chase but the intruder makes his getaway by diving through a window and fleeing into the night. After Tad fills her in on what happened, Liza's alerted when Damon returns with his hand bandaged and bloody.

Adam surprises his family with the unconventional changes he's made to his will: Colby gets a stipend that will increase when she marries a suitable man. If she divorces him, she's cut off; Scott must turn a profit for Chandler Enterprises in a year or he's cut out; JR must move in with Little Adam, back to the mansion, or they are cut out. He saves Annie's condition for last - and when she reads it, she freaks out. After enduring a few interruptions, Tad and Liza finally find themselves alone together and have sex. Ryan admits to Erica that Greenlee has been on his mind lately. Erica confides to Opal that she wants to keep her relationship with Ryan out of the public eye in order to protect what they have. David insists to Greenlee that she'll be better off without him in her life. Greenlee refuses to listen. Greenlee hears Erica talking about her plans for Fusion on TV and it angers her. She ups her physical therapy to be able to walk again.

David tells Greenlee that he confessed the truth to everyone (about lying about Trevor's paternity and faking a blood disease) and has decided to leave Pine Valley for good. Greenlee urges David to fight for people's forgiveness and admits she doesn't want to return home without him because she needs him as her safety net. Tad lets Liza know that there's nothing going on between him and Krystal after Liza admits she walked away when she saw them in what looked like an intimate moment. Tad flirts with Liza and asks her: "My place or yours?" Jake admits to Amanda that it will take some time for him to accept that David is truly out of their lives, but Jake promises to drop the vendetta. Erica points out to Ryan that it would be a mistake for them to go away on Valentine's Day when all he'll be doing is thinking about Greenlee. And Ryan thinks about Greenlee a LOT. Annie fears for her future when Adam meets with Barry to discuss his estate. She's scared she's been cut out. Colby plots against Annie, fearing she's going to try to kill Adam and get his money. JR doesn't want any part of Colby's revenge fantasies.

Tad and Liza have an awkward encounter with Krystal and Rob when both couples are planning on engaging in a little hanky-panky. Amanda stops Jake from beating the life out of David but Jake has no intention of letting David off the hook for all the trouble he's caused and asks Liza to file a civil suit against him. Liza convinces David it would be in his best interest if he left Pine Valley for good. Amanda hopes Jake can move past his vendetta against David and focus on the good things. Natalia and Brot have a busy night following up on several break-ins around town, first at Wildwind, then checking on a report of Colby's car being stolen at the Chandler mansion and finally another apparent burglary at ConFusion. Brot finds Colby's stolen car outside ConFusion. JR comforts Marissa, who's upset over David's treachery. Marissa and JR look forward to starting a family of their own.

Erica tries to cover her blurt of the "L" word with Ryan. Ryan's buoyed when Annie has Emma call and invite him over for a quick visit on his birthday. With Opal's help, Erica arranges a surprise birthday dinner for Ryan at his loft. Erica thinks Opal's gone overboard at first with all her romantic touches but ultimately decides to keep them. Ryan's happy to be home alone with Erica on his birthday. Greenlee's thrilled to realize she's getting more sensation in her legs. Adam returns home from the hospital and assures his family that he's perfectly fine. Colby remains protective of Adam. Annie's taken aback when she overhears Adam on the phone with Barry talking about making some changes to his estate. Jake and Amanda's prayers are answered when Angie announces that Jake is Trevor's father. Greenlee urges David to return home and come clean with all the people he's been lying to. Marissa can't give David the instant forgiveness he seeks when he admits he lied about having the fatal blood disease. Jake physically attacks David when he shows up at his and Amanda's door.

Greenlee presses David until he confesses that Trevor isn't his son. Greenlee tries to convince David to come forward and tell everyone the truth but he refuses to do so as he explains how desperately he wants children and a family. David gives Greenlee his phone, challenging her to expose his lies but Greenlee won't do it. Meanwhile, Jake and JR have their DNA tested to see if either of them could be Trevor's father. JR tells Jake that Jake will always be Trevor's father regardless of the outcome of the test. After getting the results of David's test, Angie informs Jake, Amanda, JR and Marissa that there's no way David could be Trevor's father. Erica admits to Ryan that her life at Fusion feels meaningless after the work she did while in Africa, where she was truly able to make a difference. While talking with Randi, Madison comes up with the idea of having Fusion create a line of cosmetics with all the profits going to charities such as the Miranda Center. Feeling she owes her, Madison insists Randi take credit for the idea when Erica immediately gets onboard with it. Frankie and Madison bond. Erica tells Ryan she feels more alive when she's with him and admits that's what she loves about him.

David's forced to come clean with Greenlee about his plan to make everyone think he's dying. Greenlee tells David she'll make sure he's painted as a hero for saving her life and was only following her wishes by keeping her hidden for the past year. Jake and Angie are confounded by the results of Trevor and Marissa's DNA tests: Neither are a match for David's disease, which is nearly impossible. Because of this, Amanda and Marissa begin to question Trevor's paternity. Jake steals David's hairbrush to get a sample of his DNA for testing. Adam tells his family that he's getting a pacemaker and asks them to all make peace with each other. Adam keeps just how dangerous his condition is from his family. Colby tells JR she thinks Annie tried to kill Adam. Things heat up between Tad and Liza. Damon realizes Tad's having his house painted just so he can have a job.

Liza, Colby and Scott race into the parlor to find a barely dressed Annie standing over Adam, who's suffered a heart episode due to Annie's sexy dance. At the hospital, Adam's doctor diagnoses him with congestive heart failure which could be fatal in some cases. Adam, however, tells Annie that he's going to be perfectly fine. Scott fantasizes about Annie. Liza's worried about Colby staying in the house because of her anger towards Annie. Madison promises Erica she won't say a word about seeing her and Ryan kissing. Opal reads Ryan's tarot cards and predicts someone from his past will be returning to his life. Greenlee calls Ryan but doesn't leave a message.

Angie takes DNA samples from Marissa and Trevor to see if they inherited the deadly disease David claims he's suffering from. Amanda and Jake's fears for Trevor mount when Angie admits the odds aren't in his favor. Marissa decides not to hide the fact she might have the disease from JR. Liza arranges for Damon to get a job with a housepainter to help him and Bailey financially for Stuart's sake. Bailey's grateful to Liza, who admits she misses her and Stuart. Colby warns Scott not to interfere with her plans for Annie. Emma bonds with Colby immediately but still remains distant with Adam. JR refuses to help Colby sabotage Annie and makes it clear that he'll never reconcile with Adam. Scott catches a glimpse of a scantily clad Annie doing a sexy dance for Adam before walking away. Colby and Liza are alerted when they hear a scream coming from the parlor.

Jake's not pleased to catch Amanda on the phone with David but soon lets his anger pass as she gives a heartfelt explanation of why she called. Amanda begins researching the disease David claims to be dying of and fears Trevor could be suffering from it as well after discovering it could be hereditary. Angie and Jake try to ease Amanda's fears, saying they'll run a DNA test on Trevor to learn more. While eavesdropping on David and Greenlee, Gayle figures out that David isn't Trevor's father. Erica and Ryan wake up in each other's arms but are soon forced to face the world. Randi and Frankie find Madison looking for Erica at Fusion and learn she needs a job. Against her better judgment, Randi suggests that Madison could take an entry level job working with her at Fusion. Randi can barely hide her bitterness when Erica hires Madison to be her personal assistant, a position that's above Randi's. Ryan decides to help Erica run Fusion. Madison walks in as Ryan and Erica are sharing a kiss.

The judge rules that Ryan and Annie will share custody of Emma, who will be spending alternate weeks with each of her parents with the first week being spent with Annie. Ryan's a wreck as he drops Emma off at Adam's but Erica soon shows up at his place to comfort him. Colby pretends to have a change of heart towards Annie but remains privately determined to get her out of Adam's life. Amanda's bowled over by the romantic surprise Jake arranges for her at Confusion when he tells her he wants them to get back what they had. David, who is still leading Amanda to believe he's in Malaysia receiving treatments, calls and subtly manipulates her into feeling guilty for having fun. Greenlee convinces David and Dr. Clayton to move forward with her surgery. Greenlee suffers a crisis during the operation but thoughts of Ryan pull her through. Tad takes Liza to Confusion to cheer her up after a run in with Colby and they end up in a kiss on the dance floor.

Liza comes through for Ryan when she gets Adam's corrupt judge to remove himself from presiding over Emma's custody hearing. Annie fears she lost all chances of winning custody but Adam urges her to be confident that things will work out. Ryan and Annie each give their heartfelt testimony in front of the judge. The judge tells them she's made a decision. Marissa gives JR a dose of tough love when he wants to put off starting another round of chemotherapy. JR admits to Marissa that he's scared but that he'll fight the cancer because he loves her. Colby plans on keeping a close eye on Annie and wants Scott's help. Ryan and Erica mutually agree to keep their burgeoning romance a secret. Opal suspects Tad is developing feelings for Liza.

Opal barges in on Ryan and Erica, effectively ruining the mood just as things are heating up between them. Ryan leaves but can't take his mind off Erica, who's also consumed by thoughts of him. Ryan surprises Erica when he returns and they have sex for the first time. David doesn't shatter Greenlee's fantasy that everything is just as she remembers with the people she loves - including that Ryan hasn't moved on. Amanda gives Jake an ultimatum, saying he needs to back off David or they're through. Jake, however, remains determined to find out what David is really doing up in Gloucester. David lies to Amanda, telling her he's going to Malaysia for treatment but is really headed to Gloucester for Greenlee's surgery. Amanda tells Jake she thinks David is going away to die. Bailey turns to Liza for help after Damon gets arrested. Bailey admits to Liza that she's missed her. Tad's there for Liza when she's forced to say goodbye to baby Stuart all over again.

Greenlee has a happy dream in which she's reunited with her loved ones but wakes up before she gets to the part about Ryan. Greenlee relates her dream to David, who cautions her that a lot has changed back at home. Greenlee gets a visit from Dr. Clayton, her surgeon. Erica and Ryan are both nervous about what they said regarding love and relationships while being interviewed by Hayley but their fears are soon put to rest when they realize they both want the same thing - a future with each other. Things heat up after Ryan pulls Erica into a passionate kiss. Liza informs Tad that David has issued a restraining order against them preventing them from returning to the bar in Gloucester. Jake's name isn't on the order, so he plans on visiting Gloucester and getting the full story. Try as she might, Liza can't stay angry with Tad, who ends up kissing her. Amanda gets angry over Jake's continued attacks on David and warns him it had better stop. Angie remains supportive of Madison.

Hayley and Mateo make a grand entrance via helicopter as Adam and Annie are preparing to renew their wedding vows. Hayley announces that she's back to tape a special episode of "Wave" because Pine Valley has been declared the "Best Town in America." Ryan gives Hayley the heads up that a lot has changed since she left. Hayley clearly dislikes Annie and is thrown to realize something's going on between Ryan and Erica. David explains to Greenlee why he let everyone, including Ryan, believe she died in the accident. David gives Greenlee the sobering news that she needs surgery to repair the damage to her spine so that she might be able to walk again but warns that the operation could kill her. Not wanting Ryan to go through the pain of possibly losing her again, Greenlee debates whether or not she should call him. She decides to keep her presence a secret until after she has the surgery, and if it's successful. Madison comes through for Jesse and his family when she blackmails James into pleading guilty. Angie reaches out to Madison and offers to let her move in.
