December
30, 2004 Yeah...the
Bianca/Miranda part of the babyswitch storyline has come to a close! I look forward
to the battle between Babe and JR. I foresee Babe and JR being forced to be together
again to keep James from the Buchanan's. Just a theory but something to consider.
At least if it happens this time they both hate each other. I'm really
intrigued by the abuse s/l coming up with Maggie and Jonathan. This will also
affect Bianca, Ryan and David. It's an important s/l and I've always been a fan
of when the writers do social issues storylines. How awesome were the
sets for Christmas this year...WAY! I loved the Chandler mansion specifically
but the hospital was done up quite nicely too. Kudos! The spotlight goes
on Susan Lucci and Jacob Young during the last couple of days. Love Love Loving
them!!! I'm really weirded out by the fact I don't have much to complain about
these days, lol! December 16, 2004 How much things have
changed from when I first started this web page. All I would do was complain how
awful the show was and now things have come full circle. Instead of Rants, I have
praise! With the 35th Anniversary coming up Ms. McT has taken us down memory lane
early with Erica talking to Bianca and us getting to see the flashbacks. To see
those moments again are wonderful and remind us how much has happened on the show
in all that length of time. Kudos to the writers. Even though I think the baby
switch storyline should have been wrapped up by now I will give the credit to
the writers at this point of that story. Bianca's in a coma and still not with
Miranda, but not because she doesn't know is expected because that's how soaps
work. But seeing Susan Lucci absolutely shine as the protective Mother is wonderful!
I think sometimes we don't really get to see Susan breakout and run with Erica
as much as she's capable of and I'm not sure who directed this episode but they
gave her room which was great! Brooke, Brooke, Brooke....You Go Girl!!!
I really want to see her run the story in Tempo. She's a woman without her child
and wouldn't it be great to see Julia Barr go all Adam with Brooke. I've got to
tell you I'm kind of curious why no one really stands up to Adam and it isn't
until one of his family members goes off on him (Stuart, Liza) or runs away (Liza,
JR, Skye) that he truly finds the meaning of Christmas....oops wrong Scrooge!
Anyway it would be nice to see someone else in town do the manipulating and if
it's of Adam all the better! December 9, 2004 Okay I
know you loved the scenes from 12/7 & 12/8...admit it. Well acted...well written.
They had everything that a classic soap should have and more. I'll say this now
and probably until Emmy time but the show and the actors had better be nominated
because it has been nothing short of a miracle the turnaround of All My Children.
Everyone has read over and over (I'm repetitive) how I feel about the baby swap
storyline but in the last month it has been a must see. I have to note that Jacob
Young's portrayal of JR is incredible. Like Alexa Haven's Babe we can feel sorry
for them one minute and just loath them the next. When Jamie shows Tad the bloody
cloth from his head and asks his father if he really believes that if JR is capable
of this (showing him the blood) he's the best person to raise a child? And of
course it will be Tad who witnesses JR's ultimate act of violence. The
only thing I didn't get is Bianca just letting JR be absolutely mean to her and
say the things about Miranda that he was saying. Sure he's hurt because deep down
he knows that Bess is really Miranda and his child was the one who "died"
but come on...after everything that Babe kept from her and all the time that was
lost with her child she's going to roll over for JR because he's a bully. She
should have thrown him out the window! I can't wait till Kendall and
Erica get their hands on the folks of the Valley who kept Bianca away from her
daughter all these months! December 5, 2004 Here's
my likes...I liked that when the Chandler plane was flying high in the sky we
actually saw clouds in the windows as they flew by. I LOVE that it is a possibility
that this babyswitch storyline is finally coming to an end and the story is moving
forward with the fall out (This should have been done over the summer or at latest
during November sweeps!) Love the little boys who play Miranda (but you already
now this). And hello...how funny was Mary being Maternal? Two scoops of riot!
Okay for the not so likey department. If I want to surprise my wife with
a present I give her a) jewelry, b) a new shiney sports car, c) a motorcycle,
d) a trapeze with costume, e) a wood chipper. Yes the first two or even first
three choices would be okay choices but I get my new wife a gizmo that could potentially
hurt her. Great Call Ryan! Now my second complaint concerning the Greenlee drugging.
Okay they figured out that Greens is being driving crazy by an anti psychotic
drug so of course only Ethan could be the culprit? Yeah, in an alternate universe
perhaps. When everyone asked who could have drugged her not one person looked
at the Lavery household. Right away it's Kendall or Ethan or even Zach Slater.
All of whom have no motive so they look to Greenlee herself. The David connection
made more sense. Then Ethan finds the drugs in Kendall's condo. It is amazing
to me how easy it is to break into everyone's apartment, home or condo! I'm going
to start a locksmith business in the Valley....I'll make a killing!
November 10, 2004 Here's my guess on the shooter...I think it's
Brandon. I think that he and Jonathan are angry at Ryan for becoming a success
and leaving them in a hell hole. JMHO. November 9, 2004
How quickly the tide turns where my ranting is concerned. I wrote my praise before
watching yesterdays show. Now Tad will allow Bianca to suffer the loss of her
child because David tells him that their children will go to jail? Please how
stupid is this??? And how lame brained could Bianca be that all of these people
are weird at the same time Babe and Jamie leave town leaving "Bess"
behind and she just doesn't get it? Clues, Clues and how about gut instinct. After
all she did take the child because she recognized her cry so what now, everyone
is dropping hints left and right and she's so gullible that she just doesn't get
it? First off it is most unlikely that the two runaways wouldn't go to jail to
begin with. Fact, "Ace" was stolen from Babe by the Lt. Governor's soon-to-be
ex-wife as far as anyone would know. Fact the Lt. Governor knows he's not the
child's biological father so that leaves him in the position of not wanting a
big fight to ruin his career. Fact Paul's dead and will be blamed for the entire
fiasco. Who killed Paul Cramer...someone on OLTL. Seriously, the cross over murder
plot? We've been watching soaps for some thirty years and hello I'm to believe
the murderer is a main character? Nope. I'm to believe that it's a character from
another show? Nope. I read Ms. McT's rundown of the November outline
and she said she didn't want to give anything away. Sweetie, you say this every
sweeps cap and lets see we've been through three sweeps with this storyline and
you have by not followed through on the story and have been DRAGGING IT OUT UNTIL
YOU'VE BEATEN THE DEAD HORSE!!!! End this ridiculousness. Let Bianca have Miranda
and lets move on with the fall out. Honestly nine months was long enough to cook
the babies inside their mamas and trust me this storyline is burnt...put a fork
in it...IT'S DONE! November 8, 2004 First off let me
tell you how much I LOVE Winifred's hair cut. It was great to see her again and
hello snazzy doo to boot...Aces! Speaking of Ace...yeah Bianca will finally
discover the truth and this baby swap storyline is finally moving on! Now all
of those storylines that have been lingering can move, move, move! It's late in
getting here but I understand that whole "Sweeps" thing. Now we can
watch (hopefully) JR have a melt down, Babe and Jamie have some fun on the road
with James, Kendall's rage (which she does so well), Erica's wrath, Adam's desperate
attempts to force JR to fight for "Bess" even if she's not his and he
will be going head to head with Tad. And of course David and Krystal being the
town's punching bags. But what I hope to see for Bianca is she's now angry and
jaded. She's lost that hope that all people are fundamentally good inside and
she gets a little mean. This is where Maggie comes in...who better to save her
from her anger than her bestest Gal Pal and almost girlfriend. And with
all this SORASing going on can we please have Maggie graduate from Med School
already...it's time for her to take her place beside Dr. Joe, Cousin David and
Dr. Maria Santos-Grey. I'm hoping too when Sam comes back from his student exchange
program he's in high school. These are my hopes for the show. Let me know what
your feelings are? Email Me!
November 5, 2004 How awesome was it that when Jonathan left Bianca
and Maggie alone to talk he came back with ORSINI champagne? Way. It made me think
of Nola and Crazy Ted. Great use of history. October 29, 2004
I was looking back at some old Soap magazines and I was thinking to myself,
self I said, how much the show has improved under Ms. Megan. I know there are
some complainers out there who would disagree because of different things...believe
me I've seen you on the message boards but over all I thought how more rounded
the shows become. I'd like to use yesterday's show as example. I loved seeing
Babe and Greenlee chatting away in the nursery at PVH. Here are two characters
that have no connection and would never have opportunity to have storyline together.
Brilliant. Seeing Brooke and Opal and having them more involved with the family
which means we get to see Stuart, Palmer and hopefully Marian again as well. Yesterday
we saw Dr. Joe giving Jamie some help. It gives me hope that we will no longer
just see the families and cast members we love just had holidays. After all they
are the core that built the show and it's great to see them. And seeing Erica
as a loving mother to Lily is another example of giving actors (this case Susan
Lucci) an opportunity to show a different side of the character. Erica is usually
trying to run her own children's lives, that with Lily we just see the maternal
Erica. I felt it just like when David Canary does Adam and Stuart. Stuart gives
Adam that human touch but when you take Stuart out of the equation we get that
ornery Adam we love to watch. Last thing I want to add is how about
the camera angles being used on the show these days. I love it. Perhaps they've
been using them all along and I just didn't notice it but I love that we can see
two actors in the same frame but close up. Thumbs up all around everyone! Sorry
for the long rant! October 24, 2004 My Rant today
isn't directed at AMC but at former actors from the shows. For way too long the
entertainment field in Hollywood has looked down at Daytime as though it is a
low form of acting. I recently read and interview by a form actor whom will remain
nameless, who basically made a joke about his soap tenure. This has always bothered
me and here are my points. 1) In the average movie the actor has a total
of around 60-80 pages of dialogue for the entire movie (This count is on the high
end). A soap averages 40 pages PER DAY and sometimes on a busy day can reach 80
pages. And while the Hollywood actor comes from his or her trailer to say maybe
three lines and if they mess up who cares a Soap Actor must delivery the monologue
and must get it correct in the least amount of takes and that my friends would
be.....ONE. 2) Some Daytime stars hold two jobs while shooting in New
York. By day, the show, by night, Broadway or Off-Broadway. Hollywood people have
manicures and phone calls. 3) There is no better place to hone the acting
skills because you must cry on command, laugh like you really mean it and a whole
slue of other emotions sometimes in a matter of 120 frames. 4) And here
is my point. Daytime was good enough for other folks who've gone on to do movies
like Christopher Reeves, Judith Light, Tommy Lee Jones, Kevin Bacon, Morgan Freeman
and the list goes on. I have never read or heard a bad word from these folks about
their Daytime experience. Probably because they know they've learned alot from
it. So my Rant is just to stand up for the GREAT group of actors who
go to work everyday to whatever Daytime Drama they work on to give us such entertainment
Monday through Friday the whole year through. They are underappreciated sometimes
by their peers but how many times has a big star gone to Florida year after year
to say hey to the fans or agreed to a Fan Luncheon when I'm sure there were better
things for them to do. That's what makes Daytime Stars Shine more than those LOADS
in Hollywood! Keep up the great work! October 23, 2004
This past week was a great viewing week. Snaps for seeing my girl Brooke
again and I'm happy she wasn't all crying and begging to Adam to "stop the
madness". Instead she was the investigative Brooke who always grabbed the
adventure. And having her team up with Tad is aces! Now that Babe and Jamie are
teamed up I'm hoping it's only a matter of time and Bianca will be getting her
child back. Fingers crossed. I have to say this again...Jacob Young
is amazing. I just want to smack JR and that is because Jacob is an amazing actor.
He has made JR evil but at the same time we see him in another scene being vulnerable!
Cheers! Loving it! October 19, 2004 Can I just say
that I've been Love, Love, Loving the sets these days on the show. I'm not sure
if ya'll are like me but I enjoy good scenery to go with my storylines. I believe
I am the only one who gets excited when the prison scenes have real cinderblocks
for walls. Why do I love these types of things...mostly because they try to make
everything believable for the viewers. Right down to the walls. I was impressed
with the detail that Wildwind's Terrace had. Right down to the food on the table.
Snaps for Production! Man do I want to slap JR and Adam around. Wow what
Acting! Jacob and David have been wonderful. I love the bond forming between Krystal,
David and Babe. It's amazing to watch. I also have been loving the subtle change
in Greenlee. I'm not sure if you've been paying attention to the storyline but
if you've done any fast forwarding...STOP! You've missed some pretty important
clues as to what is going on in the Valley. This is where writing is so important.
The hint there the clue here adds up over time and wham it gets ya suddenly. Fingers
crossed that the writers continue the arch but get to the point quickly. I love
the writing for the Baby switch storyline for the most part but still wanting
the writers to get to the point quicker. I've been reading some disgruntled viewers
on the message boards about what I've been repeatedly ranting about. But I get
how now it's harder to get to the point quicker because JR's end of the story
arch is still playing out. He's sitting on top of the world with Pops and the
writers are pushing the father and son closer to each other but further away from
everyone else which is totally cool. But everyone wants Miranda away from the
dirtball JR and back in Bianca's arms. It's a catch 22 but I hope they do get
to the point soon. Yeah Team! Good Work! October 11, 2004
Paging wardrobe! Loved Babe's outfit today! If you know me I've been complaining
(he he, yes that's me) about Maggie's wardrobe and I thinking I've figured it
out (yep all by myself, lol). I love how Brooke dresses and Babe's simple jeans
and white shirt were perfect so what about poor Mags? Well it occurred to me that
perhaps the wardrobe department is dressing her like that on purpose. Maybe she's
like designer Betsy Johnson...Out there is stylish. October 5, 2004
Again the cliff hanger that doesn't really hang. I love the show these days.
The acting is great the storylines are better than they've been in a while but
this Baby Swap storyline is OLD OLD OLD! I've seen on many boards that I'm not
the only frustrated fan. It's like the Bianca and Maggie, will they or won't they
rehash we are going through again. They WON'T, so give Bianca a new girlfriend.
It's annoying. I hope that the writers get a clue soon that they are not leading
people on to watch with this sad attempt at hooks in the storyline. The fans are
already watching because they are invested in the characters and that sometimes
when the storyline has already served it's purpose that perhaps it's time to move
forward. There would be more storyline from the revelation than the dragging out
the truth. The list of who knew the truth gets longer and longer, now Jamie knows.
Let's have a knock down drag out confrontation between Babe and Bianca. Don't
have Bianca learn it by accident (a formula I've never understood). Let her discover
it herself or have Babe tell her directly. There would be a wave that would spread
across the Valley and it would set up sides and feuds. Instead drag, drag, drag.
Having gotten that off my chest AGAIN (I'm redundant, I Know). Sorry but
it's my way of getting frustration out! Now for the great stuff. Loved the Stuart,
JR , Adam mix. Emmy worthy. Adam never learns but will JR? This is writing that
is right on the money! And Alexa Havens is just a shining star! She as the ability
to take Babe a kidnapper who's supposedly doing it for the right reasons, Classic!
Like when she said that it was wrong for Paul to keep her from her baby and never
once in the moment reflecting on the fact she's doing that to Bianca and Miranda...the
outrage...perfection! lol. September 26, 2004 I was
thinking about the show while watching it and I have to say that the improvement
has been amazing. The writing (even though sometimes I don't agree) has been nothing
short of spectacular lately. Although I really want them to wrap up this Miranda/Ace
storyline or at least give Miranda back to Bianca. I see the complex nature of
the story for the first time. If Babe gives Miranda back then she could go to
jail for knowingly keeping Miranda away from her mother. The otherside is of course
who is Ace's daddy, JR or Jamie? And how about JR being a nasty little bugger,
or seeing the Frye's more...these are some wonderful moments. I give kudos to
the acting too. Jacob Young has been a stand out as has Eden Riegel. And of course
there are shout outs for Alica, Rebecca, Cameron, and to all the new comers. I've
so enjoyed watching lately and can't wait until Adam comes back and JR gets his
in the end. David raised an interesting point on friday, 9/24 and that was just
because Babe is Ace's biological Mother doesn't mean she'll get him back. It made
me think this is also true of Miranda and Bianca. That even when JR discovers
the truth about Bess he might not give her up without at tremendous legal battle
between Bianca and himself which would be interesting to watch. They just need
to speed this storyline up a little. Also I'm really digging the building up of
the core families. This is the center piece of Daytime Drama and to see The Montgomery's,
Martin's, Cortlandt & Chandlers and the Frye's has been wonderful. Snaps to
all! Loving the Ethan/Kendall pairing as well as the Ryan/Greenlee. And
as for who shot Ryan I'd like to put in my two cents that it should be Erin Lavery.
Sure the kid sister of Ryan was only mentioned once but wouldn't it be great if
she was a bit nuts like Braden and Jonathan blamed Ryan for abandoning them all
those years ago. Then realizing that the sister he'd protected over the years
was the shooter and that he continues to protect her when he realizes Erin did
it. Okay it's just how I'd write, lol! September 15, 2004
Okay perhaps I jumped the gun a bit. I'm the first to admit that I'm wrong.
It seems that Aidan and Edmund are hot on the trails of what happened to the real
Zach Slater. Writers 1, Rant Columnist 0, lol. September 14, 2004
Babe finds her baby is alive after talking to Paul Cramer in Landview so
she comes home and tells everyone she's going back to JR for Bess' sake? Who wrote
this?? It doesn't make any sense...not even for soap opera. Again we are subject
to the "surprise" will David tell them all the truth? Will Babe tell
them the truth? Will anyone learn the truth? When they learn the truth will we
even care at that point? Frustration abounds over where I'm sitting. Wrap it up
already...IT'S OLD! The writers could continue this storyline by not talking about
it because they just seem to write the same topic over and over where it is concerned
except they change the setting of where it happens. With all of this garbage they
could be writing more intriguing things for other characters or even these characters
but no we have spent the last six months dragged through this mess. YAWN. It's
a shame because after two years of floundering they have a wonderful cast and
some decent ability to write but they drag this stuff out for six months (because
they can). Once again I shout FASTER MOVING STORYLINES. This would also give them
the ability to use more of their cast. If you've got to pay them why not use them
more. But hey that's just me. Just a side note, if Zach did all of his
research on the townies when didn't he know that Bianca was a Lesbian who has
only been in female relationships? So his little encounter with Michael was interesting
where his "Michael" thought that Bianca just didn't understand and that
he was just a womanizer not a criminal? Just wondering. And my last thing...Zach
never thought it odd that just as he dies so does the real Zach Slater? This really
needs to be explained because I'm thinking Michael murdered him. But that's just
me and the way I'd write it. September 11, 2004 How
cute is the baby playing Bess? You can see how everyone just takes to him/her.
I found myself watching yesterday's show and just being so captivated by the baby
I'm not sure I heard the dialog, lol. Okay...Will Babe tell Bianca the
truth...this is basically the previews from Thursday. Did I have any doubt that
she wouldn't? Um..NO. There is not surprise in making a false surprise. It's done
repetitively on this show. Will Adam Survive? Yes, Will Maggie and Bianca finally
be together? No. It gets so old and predicable. When the writers think they are
going to work up to this powerful reunion they never understand that if you drag
it and drag it and drag it that when the grand finale happens you've lost the
audience. Why?...Glad you asked. They invest so much emotion and energy into their
favorite storylines (e.g.. BAM) that after being disappointed over and over when
it happens (e.g.. The Kiss) there's no joy because I've already set themselves
up for the usual "Will it happen?, No it won't". I understand that there
is a formula that the writers follow but as I've said before the fans will enjoy
the angst a lot more if there were quicker points made. Now for my happy
side of what I'm seeing. LOVE LOVE LOVing Jacob Young as the Adam wanabe. At first
I was sure this was just the same old JR is now the new Adam but Jacob has taken
this hole in JR's soul to a new level. When he smirks at the camera I just want
to slap him. That's what makes Jacob a stand out. He can use just facial expressions
to illicit a response. Also some other notables. Eden Riegel shines as Bianca.
She's the heart of the Valley. Alexa Havins' portrayal of Babe. She's done some
really horrible things but when she cries you just want to hug her. As an actor
that's hard to do because really she's a villain but Alexa puts empathy into Babe
that she's kind of the victim too. Confusion 101. Maria agrees to keep
Zach's secret. Okay I understand she wants to help him. She wants to not hurt
Edmund any more but once she found out that Ryan was shot or that the real Zach
Slater died under mysterious circumstances or hey just the fact that Zach is Michael
Cambias' brother you would think she would side with the people she's known all
her life and not the guy she had an affair with for like a year in Vegas. No...not
so much. No moral compass working there. I get the fact she still has feelings
for him and wants to go all horizontal but to put everyone, including her children
in danger? Woman you need your head examined cause there's nothing floating inside!
September 2, 2004 Did I call this one...Zach Slater is Michael
Cambias' brother (See Below). What I'm waiting to see is why Zach is so outraged
by the fact Michael was murdered after all of the destruction and mayhem he left
in his wake. Or how about the sole fact his brother was a rapist? Also, I look
forward to the revelation as to what happened to the Real Zach Slater and who
was killed in the wreck that "killed" Alexander Cambias, Jr.
I must say that having had taken a break from AMC for several months off and on
I'm happy to say that the writing and continuity is better than before and they
are trying to have more hard hitting...less gimick...storylines. What I would
like to see though is more use of more of the seasoned cast. I'm sure the opportunity
will arise with Thanksgiving in a couple of months but still I loved seeing Brooke
during the Jamie's Framed storyline and hope to see her go head to head if Jamie
should become involved with Babe. One downer though...I want this baby
switch storyline to wrap up NOW! Poor Bess "Miranda" has been kidnapped
AGAIN! This poor baby has been now kidnapped 3 times in only a couple of months...she's
going to have a therapist on retainer. Yikes. August 14, 2004
Okay I've got to question the thought process they have the women of the
Valley going through these days. Babe is confronted with fact over fact concerning
JR's duplicity. She knows Jamie would never hurt his brother. How does she know
this, well he wanted to tell JR that they slept together and when he thought Babe's
child could be his he stood up and said he would take the responsibility for the
child and Babe. But alas the blonde one is denser than oak. And zoinks it occurs
to her that if JR did drug her and frame Jamie that not telling Bianca her baby
is alive was all for not since her marriage isn't savable. Genius! And what's
with Binx, her bestest Gal Pal stands by her man and Bianca is siding with JR
after he made her unwelcome around Bess. And what's with her almost bonding with
some strange guy (Zach). Here's another problem I have with what's happening around
town. Kendall was told by Ryan to watch out for Zach and he reminds her what happened
the last time she brought a man to Pine Valley so Kendall in her desperation to
squash Ryan and Greenlee has taken sides with the handsome stranger. Nice!
Is it me or does anyone else feel like Zach is going to end up as Alexander
Cambias, JR? July 12, 2004 Yep
I'm ready for another rant and it goes like this. Have I not complained about
the babyswap storyline for like ever? Yes I have. Now are archvillian JR Chandler
has stolen the "stolen" baby. Not even Maddie Grey has gone through
that! This child is destined to grown up a criminal thanks to the parenting skills
of the Chandler family. David is looking good by the standard although he's given
up saving the life of Bianca whom he's knows for years for a daughter who's just
as diabolical with a sweet smile as he is...so much for saving the good Doctor
Hayward. July
7, 2004 ~
Maybe I'm the only one with an issue here but David has been with Bianca through
everything concerning the rape and pregnancy. He's known her for a long time.
She's his only family in town, Maggie's best friend. And he knows she's the most
caring and sweet person he'll ever meet so now that he has a daughter he's going
to end up keeping Miranda's identity to himself? Umm..yeah right! What a waste
of a DNA test! Krystal
tells David how nice and sweet and kind Babe is and sure she comes off all sweet
and lovely but in the same breath that she declares Bianca her bestfriend she
also admits to keeping her child away from her so she can keep her husband. This
is where I give Alexa Havins credit. I feel for Babe as the victim but really
she's the villain. Only a true talent can pull that off. I see emmy nom her way.
But again the writing is weird and did I ever mention drawn out...Oh that's right
I have...sorry. I wish they would get to the point already where everyone's lives
are destroyed because the hashing, rehashing, and re-re-hashing of David knows
what Krystal knows that Babe knows...yada yada yada garbage is getting on my last
nerve. How about you have Bianca and JR know already and actually get this storyline
moving! Frankly weeks and months of who all knows Bess is Miranda and the keep
the secret game is REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY redundant and OLD! ~
June 22, 2004 ~Here's my pet peeve. I'm sure the actors wouldn't
agree with me on this because they want as much screen time as they can get and
heck I don't blame them. It's just that David and Krystal have spent 3 days going
over the same material. Her convincing David not to tell anyone the truth about
Bess and then the fact that Babe is his daughter. I'm all in favor of a storyline
like Maggie explaining her feelings for Bianca over a couple of days because they
are not going over the same subject matter as much as looking for a resolution.
Not unlike Maria and Edmund and his paralysis. They are looking for a solution.
The Krystal/David scenario will end like it always does he won't tell Bianca the
truth. The writers go for this arc and what's at the end...nothing. The will he
or won't he is lost on this long time viewer because well it's been done over
and over and over and over and over...so I know the outcome. What I'd like to
see is Bianca to finally get to the point that the rose colored glasses come off
and she starts seeing the clues and how everyone is acting around her. If it were
me I'd have her discover the truth accidentally from Adam. I know you are going
huh??? Yep Adam...when Adam learns the truth do you think he'll care that Bess
isn't biologically a Chandler? Do you think he would do anything to save his son's
torment? So in my opinion the last two people who should learn the truth are Bianca
and JR...in that order. The last to know should be JR. But getting back
to my point (Often I'm side tracked, yikes!) they could have summed up the Krystal/David
pleading session sooner and had these two doing other things with a chemistry
set and Krystal playing with her new boy-toy Tad. June 21, 2004
~What I found interesting the other day when JR brought baby Bess into the
ER was the fact that David was working there. Maybe it was during my boycott that
David was reinstated but I was pretty sure he was still banned by PVH from practicing
in their facility. If I'm wrong somebody let me know. What's even more strange
is the fact the attending in the ER that night is Dr. Maria Santos Grey. Why would
I be perplexed by such an obvious choice...well I'm glad you asked...she a neurologist!
I guess since Carlos her last patient left town in a body bag she's downgraded
her expertise and is working ER. Yes...I'm just being picky! lol. Was
it me or in yesterday's episode did Adam insult Saint Dixie by telling his son
that he didn't want Dixie raising his child. JR's response don't compare my mother
with Babe she was a saint. Hmm...how about we compare you to your evil controlling
father. What's interesting to me is that JR ran away because his life was imploding
when Dixie died and his father tried to control him so he comes back to town and
now he's embracing his father's mantra of control thy children? Let's see...his
two sisters are recovering Alcoholics, he's recovering from drug addiction and
his father caused the death of his sister Anna (Gloria's Baby) so that she was
delivered prematurely and didn't survive. JR knows all of this but yet he wants
to be vindictive. To me this is ludicrous. If I were writing the storyline I would
have pushed Jamie and Babe together to make it look as though they were having
an affair, called her an adulterer and taken the baby. Again I go to the quicker
storylines. What would make this even more interesting with a triangle between
JR/Babe/Jamie would be for Adam and Brooke to get married again for some odd reason
like protection from testifying or something like that and have them fall for
each other only to be drawn apart by their feuding sons each taking their own
child's side. It's gives 5 people a storyline that is a little fresher than the
rehash of the Dixie Days. But then again I don't write for the show...dang I hate
when that happens.
June 17, 2004 ~I've been wondering of late why the baby swap
storyline hasn't been resolved yet. It's clear from what I've read on the various
boards that the fans are basically unhappy with what's going on. I do understand
that a happy soap character is a soap character who gets no storyline but in the
same vein of thought it's very difficult to watch a story that was basically cruel
from the being. Now Babe whom the writers have written as the "New Dixie"
isn't really that nice of a person. She says that Bianca is her best friend yet
for selfish reasons keeps her best friend's baby. Now David will be revealed as
Babe's biological father and wow here's a guy who lost his other daughter a year
ago and would do anything for a child of his own. So I'm thinking that Dr. Dave
won't be telling Bianca about Bess anytime soon. This all leads me to the conclusion
that when Bianca discovers the truth she becomes a darker person from all of the
betrayal. I mean this poor woman has been through so much in her life and to discover
that the hope you've placed in everyone around you is all a bunch of poey. We
are all drawn to Bianca because of her hope for the better in people. I believe
that is why she constantly forgives those around her. But hey that's just me.
This new version of Adam in JR is stupid. If I believed the writers are going
to redeem him in some way that would be one thing but then they never end a storyline
in the same direction they started. Which is why the storyline arcs SHOULD NOT
be so long. It's appears that the writers lose their train of thought and the
viewers who are deeply invested in the characters and storylines feel cheated
and confused. The strength of soaps has always been their histories and in this
case you have a young man who hated his father for keeping him from his mother
and knows all of the things Adam did to Dixie to steal Junior from her yet in
the course of time that JR's come back to town he's become his father and more.
So what happens when Jamie saves Babe and JR gets Bess and Babe uses the truth
that Bess is really Miranda and he fights Babe and Bianca to keep Bess as Bess
his daughter. More DNA test fixing? I honestly hope this isn't the direction the
writers are going because um...yawn. Although if Eden Riegel decides to stay on
at AMC she and Jacob Young could really have some wonderful scenes of going at
each other over Miranda. But soaps take forever to tell the story and by the time
this came to fruition it might be years. Again I reiterated that storyline arcs
should be shorter. DNA TESTING in Pine Valley...This lab is making a
fortune on all this DNA testing. David alone is funding the new wing on the Corporate
Headquarters. Lastly....How happy are BAM fans right now. Well you would
think ecstatic but they have been fooled before by the vague whispers of hope
that Mags and Binx will hook up. As always a wait and see. Fingers crossed for
the fans though. May 23, 2004 ~It's been awhile since
I've felt like watching AMC. I never completely stopped. Let's face it there's
nothing else on TV anymore. I'm glad the baby thing is moving forward. It wasn't
my most favorite storyline, like you couldn't tell, lol. I'm enjoying the Kendall/Greenlee/Ryan
thing. The writers have fully established that Ryan and Kendall love each other
which I think is why I like this storyline. The wake that they leave behind will
be far reaching. I'd like to see Kendall and David team up and drive Greenlee
and Ryan crazy. JR becomes Adam. Who didn't see this coming. JR will
take away Bess from Babe just like Adam did him from Dixie and he doesn't see
it? Sure it makes him more interesting but I think that the writers need to make
these characters independent. The Bianca was raped in a rainstorm and gave birth
to her rapist's baby was enough of the reliving it all again stories. Original
ideas often are wonderful! I know that it's traditional to tap into the past of
a soap but to just write the same storyline for the next generation is just plain
lazy from where I'm sitting. I can tell you what will happen next with JR/Babe...Jamie
her true love will save her from his evil clutches just like Tad did for Dixie
and guess what it will be for not because Bess is really Miranda. I guess that
is the new twist. Loved Eden's portrayal of Bianca...quite gut wrenching.
This woman needs to get some love...maybe Maggie will stop denying her love for
Bianca and with Lena out of the picture love will bloom. Erica goes blonde
and goes to Vegas. Why? Oh right to introduce a new stud for Jackson to sit back
and watch while he gets the lovin' and Jackson gets to pick up the pieces of her
shattered life. I'm happy to see Livie and Tom back in town. Maybe Brooke
can have a storyline soon? Bored with the grouchy Edmund...they need to make him
start drinking or something because his feeling sorry for himself and then being
the grateful "I've got my family" thing is lame. I'm shocked the writers
couldn't have come up with something better for Edmund and Maria? So
ends my rant today...thanks for reading and drop me a like with how you feel about
the show Email Me. ~I'm taking
a hiatus from AMC for a bit. I'll catch it occasionally just to see if anything
has changed but I've been so unhappy with the last three weeks of storyline that
I no longer have that thrill at 1 pm. Here is my problem. Bianca has been beyond
tortured and if that isn't bad enough we've been forced to watch the "21st
Century Erica story". It's interesting that Bianca has lived a mirrored life
of her mother in so many ways. The rape...killing someone in self defense and
let us not forget Erica stole Maddie Grey and passed her off as her adopted daughter
Sonia. Eden Riegel being the gifted actress has shone through everyone of her
lines and will always be a favorite of mine. None of my discontent is directed
at the actors because they are all so talented and wonderful. My discontent is
directed at the writers and producers. What the writers and producers
fail to realize (and this goes for all soaps) is we have difficult hectic lives
and just want to escape to the land of Pine Valley, Port Charles or Salem. AMC
has always been rich in social stories and romance but in the last several years
it's just been convoluted plots that get dropped, characters that just disappear,
characters with potential (Juan Pablo & Boyd Laraby) not being developed and
then dropped and of course the mess we are watching today with the baby switch
plots. I think what bothers me most in this horrible story is there is NOT ONE
glimmer of reality in it. Just now someone (Tad) is questioning that perhaps Bess
is Miranda? I'm sorry but when you have a baby they do blood work on them as well
as the mother and if there was helicopter crash and one eye witness they would
have confirmed the parentage of the surviving baby so there would be no question
whom she belonged too. Also, hello, there was no investigation of Paul Cramer's
unauthorized use of a helicopter that "crashed". No investigation or
study of the vehicle which would have clearly showed tampering and how about that
radio that he pulled out and ceremonially crunched? Sure I know it's just a soap
and they have some liberality's in telling a story but please, give me a break!
Has anyone but me noticed that no one in Pine Valley is happy? Erica's a
drunk, Jackson is running after her, Anita and Bobby are separated, Edmund's in
a wheelchair and Maria's worried about his surgery, Tad, Krystal, Babe, JR and
Bianca....all sad and upset. Maggie, Jamie and Lena have become shocked background
worriers with no story. Brooke...missing. Adam still angry and controlling, I
think he needs botox to loosen that scowl. Kendall, Ryan, Aidan, David, Greenlee,
Mia and Simone...all disgruntled, unhappy and basically lingering in limbo! So
why watch? No Romance, no intrigue, no glimmer of happiness that lasts more than
one episode, why watch? My life is depressing enough that I don't need more help
in that department. If I were watching a sad storyline on the show I
could be into it because usually there is someone who is happy on the other end
to balance out the sadness. I'm not a usual watcher of Days but how sad
they've decided to use massive violence to have Marian the serial killer kill
Alice Horton as well as a huge chuck of the cast. This is the state our shows
are in. I know this line was off topic but it has resonance because to grab ratings
they exploit such violence. Sad from where I stand. So I concluded my
diatribe of why I'm unhappy with AMC and hope that things look brighter for the
Pine Valley Group. I'm hoping there is something to spark my interest enough to
go back to my AMC Page.~ ~ I'm at the point with AMC that watching has
become a painful experience. I speak of the Bianca storyline of the baby swap/stolen
at birth. As if it weren't enough for Bianca to learn of Lena's betrayal...then
she's raped by Cambias....only discover she's pregnant and then her baby is stolen?
I can't stand to watch anymore as the heroine is a victim once again. Not only
is this getting old but it's now annoying. Of all the storylines to commit to
the linking of AMC and OLTL is ridiculous. I am considering taking a break from
the show all together. I will not watch for years to come for the truth to come
about the babies. There's nothing riveting there. I barely watch OLTL and will
not invest in this storyline on that show. There are so many other riveting stories
to tell but TPTB are again blinded by gimmick. Bad choice guys. In an instant
gratification society we live in, the soap writers haven't learned yet that although
you have loads of time to tell a story it isn't was the public wants they want
quick storylines that incorporate all of the characters (Old and new). Who killed
Michael Cambias was a good ending but it took way to long to get there. It's like
Greenlee trapped in the well...eventually I was feeling like she didn't freeze
to death yet? I was tired of her whining about everything and the day dreams/hallucinations
became tiresome. Unfortunately Soap Writers sometimes do not understand what the
viewers want to see. And AMC is suffering from having alot of people who do not
understand their viewers making poor decisions about content, storylines and in
some cases casting. Catch the wave guys because we already know what we want to
see...are you listening? ~ I have to be honest I had my doubts that when
Megan McTavish took the reigns we would see anything different but I was wrong.
We will discover who killed Michael Cambias this week. Bianca and Lena have found
their way back together. Jamie and JR are igniting an old feud that takes us back
to the days of Tad and Dixie and she's brought back our favorite nemesis' Palmer
and Adam. Uniting under a common banner but never really trusting each other.
We've seen alot of our favs like Liza and Joe. The storylines of Brook, Edmund
and Maria are going to be in full swing in a matter of weeks and they are bringing
back some family members to spring new storylines. And of course Jack and Erica
continue to be the victim of tortured love. So in short I've been a happy camper
with the exception of the wardrobe department. But hey it gives me something to
complain about, lol. ~ Just when I thought that Maggie got some decent
clothes I think the poor girl gets dressed in the dark. Why oh why can't some
of her fashion savvy friends help this poor waif? When you wear one of those fake
turtlenecks they go on the inside of your sweater...someone forgot to give this
poor girl the memo. I can't wait until this girl hits med school...at least she'll
get to wear scrubs which is a nicer outfit than those duds she's wearing now!
~ ~ Okay...Ryan meets a guy in a bar who's not feeling well. He spends
a week maybe two with this old guy and most of it is in the hospital. While in
the hospital this Billionaire bequeaths his entire fortune to a man whom he just
met? Now Ryan is possessed by fulfilling Alexander Cambias' wish that his heir
be the Cambias to redeem his legacy or something to that effect? Color me puzzled.
What I find disturbing about this is Ryan is the benevolent hero type who only
sides with right. Sure when there are Billions at stake? He was once was a con
man type now he's sweet as pie? I was also not a fan of his instant desire to
help Bianca by forcing her to admit that she is carrying Michael's baby and that
the said baby is a Cambias and she doesn't have a choice. What's up with that?
That money could sit in trust until the child is an adult. She doesn't have to
take the money and she doesn't have to subject herself to him, Cambias Industries
or anyone else for that matter. The whole dialogue exchange made me very uncomfortable.
When you have a beloved character like Bianca it's horrible to watch them constantly
"re-rape" her. I suppose it's the intended reaction of the writers to
have us want to champion Binx but I found it uncomfortable to watch. JMHO. Also
I'm not sure I like the "hero without a cause" version of Ryan. Cam
Mathison is a great actor why not let him give the character a little edge?
~ "Who Killed Michael Cambias?" at this point I'm like...WHO CARES!
Do we need this story dragging like the Proteus story forever? I think not. This
is one problem soaps in general have. When it's a social storytelling it can be
dragged out over long periods of time because it is an emotional affect that is
being felt by a character or characters. Like Cindy's AIDS or Bianca's anorexia
these stories have many folds. What tends to happen in a murder mystery is the
writers want to keep their secret as to who the murderer is that they drag it
on way too long. I remember back sometime in the late 80's early 90's when I used
to watch As The World Turns (Doug Marland you are missed). There was a murder
mystery going on..."Who Killed Caroline Crawford?" After two years of
this horrid storyline the murderer was revealed and guess what...no one cared!
Soap Opera Digest even ran multiple articles on the dragging along of this storyline.
And when it came to an end they ran an article with the title "Who Killed
Caroline Crawford?...Who Cares!" I'd hate to see this happen with AMC. Like
today Adam tells Erica what he saw and Babe overhears what is said but we don't
get to see it. Kendall's been on the hot seat so long that she's got to have hot
cross buns by now. And if we have to suffer through one more second of Ryan trying
to get Derek to give him the time of death I think I personally will scream! I
do like the writing on the show but in an effort to keep us wanting more I believe
they are burning us out. It took forever to find out how Adam hurt his shoulder.
I enjoy all of the characters being involved with this storyline but I think the
writers need to reveal more each day or even each week than what they have been.
It's very difficult to watch Derek and Justin so passionately go after the person
or persons who they think killed Michael Cambias but when Michael was assaulting
and stealing and raping the residents of Pine Valley they weren't all that interested.
Which maybe another reason why I don't care too much who killed Cambias. JMHO.
~ ~ UGH!! There the scream is out. First off I have a love/hate relationship
right now with the writers which I believe is a good thing but frustrating. Here
is my quandry...What makes Ryan's bloated announcement about owning the town any
different than Michael's announcement about owning the town and everyone in it?
The only difference is Michael raped Bianca. How could Ryan (who used to be a
sweet caring man) tell Erica in one breath that he's going to keep her on at the
company he doesn't really own yet oh and by the way how's Bianca and if there
is anything he can do just let him know? That's kind of sick from where I'm standing.
Second on the Rant agenda for me is Ryan admits to the DA and Chief of Police
he discovered Michael's body. Edmund concurs that the second set of footprints
were Ryan's. Why weren't these two arrested? Tampering with a crime scene, trespassing,
falsifying evidence? Yeah like I said before it's no wonder that only Simone gets
arrested in this town! Derek and Jack want to talk to these two later? Okay Sherlock
clueless. ~ Third part of the rant. Alexander states in the beginning of his will
or video tape that he and Michael had an agreement that whoever died first would
get everything of the other one's estate. Okay...Michael is murdered so first
when did he die? Second, one would so counter sue this request of a dying man
that he left his Billion dollar estate to a guy who gave him a ride to Vegas.
Third, in changing his will without the principle party involved, i.e. Michael,
to agree to the new terms based on the fact that the Alexander and Michael made
mutual agreement to the first will, Alexander is in breach of the terms of the
first will and therefore would probably make Alexander's little announcement void.
Sure Ryan would get some little settlement but I would think that this would be
pulled apart even in Pine Valley Court. And fourth...If Michael Cambias was accused
of drug trafficking and it is assumed that he acquired the funds to purchase the
controlling interests in Chandler, Enchantment and Fusion wouldn't all of this
be frozen by the government or at least be subject to on going investigation?
All of these thing bothered me I think mostly because Ryan to me although not
as evil as Michael yesterday came off no better than Michael Cambias. I'm glad
the writing is more intriguing and it makes me want to watch everyday no matter
how insane the non-reality issues are and really this is a good thing! So to sum
up...I loved it, I hated it, lol. ~ ~ I'm LOVING Boyd's hair. It's a
weird thing I'll grant you but he looked fabulous yesterday. I'm not sure how
many of you are Boyd fans but I am. I think that if the character got some story
line we'd really see this actor open up and run with it! ~ ~ Okay this
holier than thou Tad is annoying. He insists that Carlos and Juan go to the police
about the murder Carlos committed when he was 14 in Argentina. Ummm... Yeah. And
what exactly is the PVPD going to do about a murder that happened in a foreign
country? Have him extradited to Argentina where there apparently have been no
charges filed? From what I understand Carlos was in the US to protect him from
the Gang and Brothers of Sergio so it is possible that the cause was put off to
"Street" violence. Since there were so many holes in the dialogue of
explanation on Carlos' murder exploits it's not hard to stretch that in Argentina
no one really cared that Sergio was dead. I guess I'm just a bit shocked that
all of the sudden Tad of all people is the moral conscience of the community.
That and he wants the Fusion babes for himself. So much for moral superiority.
~ (Yes I know it's just a soap.) ~ To further my HELLO??? rant Michael
Cambias is apparently CEO of Chandler Enterprises with not so much as a board
meeting. Oh yes they did all this behind the scenes. Okay let us look at the scene...Michael
Cambias no matter how much money he has would never be elected by board members
to be CEO if he had pending charges of embezzlement of said company. Lest we forget
the Bob Barrett incident. Again going to the 51% idea. My name is Adam Chandler
and although I do not own 51% of my company the rest is dallied between my family
members such as STUART, HAYLEY, COLBY, LIZA, SKYE and JR...not to mention Erica
Kane has some shares and so forth. Yet Michael Cambias was able to buy up all
of the outstanding 'controlling shares'. Here's a bone to bite on as well he managed
to do this even though he was "dead" to his father and so he has controlling
interest in Enchantment. If it was bought with Cambias Industries moneys doesn't
that mean that since Erica is on the Board of Directors of Cambias she can control
the purchase and or shoot down the purchase of Enchantment? Megan your social
storyline is very powerful but your building up to the murder "who-done-it"
of Michael Cambias is a lot to be desired. And if this is all leading to Ryan
controlling Cambias Industries and in the long run owning everything in Pine Valley...please
don't bother. ~ To start off with YES I KNOW IT'S A SOAP. Michael now
has apparently taken control of Enchantment. Let's pretend this is possible. What
isn't possible is that Diva Erica Kane would own less than 51% of her company.
And the lamo "air tight" contract that came in a form of an email saying
in very small print that if Fusion accepts the $500,000 it forfeits the company
to Michael Cambias. Umm...Yeah. If they are going to have us invest in this storyline
let's have a little reality. Honestly the janitor could have accepted the email
and the money would be transferred into Fusion's bank. Okay it was Sassy Simone
but hello she is not a CFO or a CEO at Fusion. Hell she's not even a share holder.
Which brings me to the other point I must make about Michael. After being arrested
and awaiting trial for his fraud and misappropriating of funds charges the judge
would even consider taking the rape case before the first case is tried and hello
what judge would allow a hearing on charges of rape without any of the lab work
coming back on either the victim or the crime scene. He was arrested and in like
48 hours of soap time he's got a hearing. Not to mention the whole "I've
got a cell phone" in my jail cell. And after all of the "white collar"
crime he had committed with the fraud charges wouldn't his bank accounts have
been frozen? I like a good story and I love to hate the bad guy but this is a
bit hard to believe. At least the fraud portion of the Cambias story made sense
with Bob Bennett being paid off to set up Lena Kundera. I guess I'll just have
to wait until Monday to see if the Judge allows the rape case to go forward.
~ Loving wardrobe lately with one notable exception...who is dressing Maggie?
She's neither cool nor trendy. Her clothes make no sense at all. Those beige pants
that were way too long? My cousin is a world renown heart surgeon who's paying
for everything and I'm a soon to be med student so I dress like this because????
At least Erica's looking better. Hair was great, outfit also great and digging
Myrtle as usual. ~ My on going comments about wardrobe. Maggie needs
to burn those horrible knickers and Hello! orange is not the new pink!
~ I'm amazed at what Michael Cambias can accomplish on his laptop. He can't get
his own fake idea or arrange for an exit out of Pine Valley on his own but he
has $500,000 laying around in his accounts to wire money to Fusion. And how prey
tell did he gain access to their bank accounts? After the Lena thing you'd think
everyone in town would have raked Albert Vander Pool over the coals for his less
than safe bank but no. Yes it's true this is fantasy but a modicum of reality
would be nice. Hey I love that their is a cliff in New Jersey (Maria's Plane Crash)
or that Willow Lake seems to have moved over the years from an hour away to in
the center of town or the fact that the children suffer from sudden aging. These
things are cool with me but when they take an every day matter like the bank thing
it gets to be too much. ~ Watching AMC now is much easier than less then
a year ago. Megan McTavish is back as head writer and the storylines are looking
to be more powerful. So far we've only seen David and Anna & the rape storyline
but I'm hoping that we will see much more integration of the other characters
on the show. How about Myrtle getting mucho screen time these days...awesome.
With that said I've been reading about the newest casualties of the new writing
team. Jamie is supposedly being aged, so Michah Alberti is gone. This is really
a bad mistake. They were grooming him to be the next Tad the Cad and this actor
could have pulled it off. Now I'm sure we'll be forced to see yet another model
who can't act in the aged character. Joni is also supposedly gone. Why? Her family
had been introduced as was her wild past which explains her tow the line attitude
with her parents but with the willingness to break the rules. So these two go...where
is the Teen Storyline that we've all been hearing about and not 6 months ago forced
to watch with JR & Laurie??? It's summer and this is probably one of the only
shows not to have that "all important teen story" going. Confused am
I! Okay I'm not the only one to notice but is Maggie's wardrobe getting
worse? I know she's poor (with a rich cousin) and she's supposedly the average
20 year old but what is with her choice of clothes. What irks me most is there
is a person who gets paid to dress this character. Perhaps they've taken up drinking
and that's where the choice of clothes is coming from, anyway someone do something
and fast! ~ I for one wasn't hepped up on the Rape Storyline with Bianca.
But after having seen Eden's performance I think this storyline will be a catalyst
for so many characters. I for one am glad that Megan McTavish is back to bring
us some of the drama and classic approaches to the Soap we love. Core Families,
Drama and Romance is what AMC is about and I hope that the trend continues. ~
~ Why do my rants mostly go back to the Wardrobe department??? Well
because they may have years of fashion experience they must have been dressing
in the dark for years as well. I'd like to point out before I continue the rant
that I'm not the only one to have problems with Maggie's wardrobe. Saying that
what is with Maggie's wardrobe!!!! The blue halter top with the hipster pants....and
then to put her hair up on time of it she looked more like a hooker than a med
student. Not three weeks ago we were treated to that horrible outfit that had
the ties on the pants that were knickers and they were accented by heels??? Umm....someone
get this girl a mirror and some light so she can see what she's wearing. Oh and
what kind of friend is Bianca that she wouldn't say something about Maggie's choice
of clothes or at least take the poor girl shopping. I've come to the conclusion
that the only member of the Hayward family with fashion sense was Leo and he took
it with him!~ ~ Here's another continuity problem. Correct me if I'm
wrong but wasn't officer Lyman's first name Andy? Now his name is apparently Shawn
or maybe that just what Jack thinks his name is...What is the deal?~
~ Okay here's my problem today...First Greenlee dumps all of the Enchantment
products in the drawers at Lacy's...the problem is she puts out a total Fusion
Extravaganza. Where's the problem...well how did Green's know where the products
were stored? Where did she get the Fusion Poster? And more importantly how the
hell did they get into the store without setting off the alarm. Hopefully this
guy is a Lacy. Secondly, Mia is all in Tad the Cad's face tempting with her freaky
womanly charm. What is with this bit of writing that makes...umm...NO SENSE? Maybe
it's me but Simone and Tad make more sense and have way more chemistry. And the
ick factor of Tad with his brother's ex-fiance...yeah ick factor 10! ~
~ It's really time for TPTB and the executive producer and the graphics people
to change the open sequence. Jason Olive (Frankie Hubbard) left a long time ago.
And so has pretty much 1/2 the folks on the opening. It wouldn't bother me as
much if I didn't notice that OLTL & GH constantly update their openings. So
what's the hub bub about doing it for AMC? So lets go UPDATE mode already! ~
~ I know this is a consistent rant but PAGING WARDROBE! Erica is a vibrant
woman what's with the GRAY? Can you say color???? Okay and the hairdo...you might
want to rethink that one too. Poor Susan Lucci deserves more than this...what's
next a turban? ~ ~ Okay Chris' body showed up but I'm still wondering
how Flander's managed to get out of the woods with a dead body and no one saw
anything.~ ~ I'm all a wonder as to where Chris Stamp's body went? Okay
he's shot twice and in the time it took, what 10 - 15 minutes, for Edmund to look
around his body is gone. Did Evan take it with him? And if so how is it he had
all of this spare time to get the kid who can identify him? Or how about this
if Evan didn't kill Chris and Chris walked away then why wouldn't he be trying
to silence him? That leads me to why would Flander's care if Maddie could identify
him...Thanks to Chris he's got a new passport and money. Bizarre stuff that bugs
me that's all. ~ ~ This is perfect just after I put on the site about
Room 867 the continuity people must have seen the mistake too...So now Lena is
in room 867 and Chris until his demise is in room 876, lol. ~ ~ I'm being
picky, picky, picky here but as I was re-watching some episodes of AMC I realized
that both Chris Stamp and Lena are staying in room 867. And the funny thing about
all this besides she's now gay and all is that his furniture is arranged differently
than hers. Wild Man! ~ ~ A Couple of things bugging me lately. First,
Henry and Maggie are so boring. The writers are telling their story as poorly
as they tried to do the teen story a couple of months ago. Maggie who has trust
issues and seemed more vibrant flirting with Tim "I suddenly disappeared"
Dillon seems to have embraced a man who cheats, what's up with that? And also,
what's up with her dumping her friendship with Bianca? They were closer than close
and now she's cashed her in for an amnesiac new best friend who by the by is like
20 years older than her. The writers have reduced practically every female on
the show with the exception of Greenlee to a horny soriety girl with no brain.
Example Simone was the undercover journalist on the verge of the story during
the Proetus investigation now she's only looking to have sex it seems. Kendall
has become a mass of jello where her pop up lover is concerned. Hello a stranger
who lies about his name and suddenly moves to her town to be with her plants the
seeds to seduce a man who's in love with her for his formula and she's all like
"My world is over!" when she fails to seduce Boyd. Please this isn't
the same woman who got her mother to stab her stepfather in her revenge plan when
she first came to Pine Valley. And the only person not under Love Potion #9 seems
to be Boyd and no one I mean no one is listening to he cries that Michael Cambias
is behind everything that's happening with Kendall and that Lena has an ulterior
motive with Bianca even though he doesn't know she's really working for Cambias.
He apparently is the only one with instincts. How is this so??? ~
~ I'm confused about Chris' behavior all of the sudden. He's acting like a stalker
who is obsessed with Erica. They seem to me to be heading the story line in the
direction of him having this same type of behavior once before. But when Chris
was protecting Ryan's mother and they made love and all and he loved her but he
let her go. No stalking no strange behavior. Maybe I'm just picky. ~
~ My other peeve is Maggie and Henry. This story is playing out way to slowly
and honestly I miss Maggie and Bianca's friendship. Okay we get it hey aren't
a couple but they were so close and now they are barely ever together. Bianca
spends more time with Boyd which I feel is weird. They make great friends but
I miss the Bianca/Maggie dynamic. ~ ~ I'm being picky here but Maggie
told Alma there wasn't anything but friendship between her and Henry. An outright
lie. Then throws it in Alma's face when she and Henry are holding hands in the
restaurant. And then she's like I do not think your mother will ever like me.
DUH! ~ ~ I think that TPTB finally started listening to the fans.
Thank goodness! Tad and Lysistrata had some very funny scenes yesterday. I see
her becoming a regular cast member. I hope the writers give this couple some fun
stuff to do and with Liza potentially in the pot and Lys being her therapist I
see hijinks galore! ~ ~ Okay now in the teen scene it's Joni that's getting
on my nerves. Not the actress just the character. It would be nice to be able
to see what direction they are taking her in but the goodie too-shoes, overly
judgmental, rebel without a cause-wanna be just isn't working! And if she says
Laurie stole her boyfriend one more time I'm going to have to throw something
at the television! Drastic I know but it's just too annoying to watch. It would
make more sense for her to be pretending to be the good girl while sabotaging
everything and everyone. ~ ~ Yeah Tad is back again. And the shear possibility
that we would be linked to Lysistrata would be perfect. The who have a knack and
MEK has chemistry with everyone so I hope they give it a try. ~ ~ Fan
February was only good in the aspect Tad got to be the CAD. When Myrtle pinched
his bottom I roared with laughter. That and the comment about Aidan's accent.
The rest was okay but who would have written in they wanted Adam to be a waiter?
Oh yeah that would have been Brian Frons! ~ Finally some romance and
with Jackson and Erica no less...Yeah! ~ ~ Pet Peeve time. I do not think
that the viewers have any idea that Soaps are rated TV14. So here is my peeve.
I've read on the boards that Bianca shouldn't have a romance because daytime TV
isn't read for a gay relationship. But yesterday we watched as Erica and Jack
had sex in the living room while she's engaged to Chris. We watched Aidan and
Morgan at gun point culminating in him whacking her in the head, tying he up and
sticking he in the closet. Not to miss all of last week where Edmund continued
to drug his wife without her knowledge. So daytime TV is ready for all of these
issues/acts but now a loving gay relationship??? Very odd. ~ ~ More and
More teenage angst! I can't stand it. It would be different if the story was compelling.
But it's not. You have three actors who aren't very good, two of them show promise
though, and they have the front burner story line I have read so many boards that
have expressed the same detestation for this story line as I have. It's one thing
to have this story forced on us during school breaks or summer time but now when
all the kids are in school we are forced to watch this pitiful display. They present
the story as though it's relevant. Rich kid loves poor girl with bad father (Greg
and Jenny) then you through in rich kid's brother who is falling for poor girl
with bad father and you've got the oldest triangle on TV. This triangle might
work if the writing was compelling and we had a vested interest in the characters
but instead we have been FORCED to watch or at least FF this trite garbage. ~
~ Love Tad being back on screen and funnier than ever! What can I say I Love
MEK! ~ ~ I'm amazed by TPTB and their apparent lack of knowledge of what
the fans really want. Fan February will probably be the biggest joke. I'll wait
to see but I'm thinking I won't see what I want during Fan February. Also the
mass firings are now becoming old. And the problem with miss casts and characters
that aren't working that just drop of the face of the planet is that it takes
two weeks before we see any changes (i.e. JR) and with Frank...Jake didn't seem
to care much for his "old friend" when after Mia told him about his
son that he dropped off the face of the earth. Tad should have been involved with
Frank from day one after all he spent 6 months being haunted by Jessie, Frank's
dead father. ~ ~ Today I was reading some message board posts over at
Soapnet and some were talking about the casting problems over at AMC. Mimi said
she knew that I think her name is Judy Wilson was having some problems with contracts
but that things were going to be getting better soon. God I hope so. There was
also talk about Jake leaving when J.Eddie Peck asked to be released from his contract
and the show let him go. Also word on the board was they are recasting or have
recast the role of JR and Frank was possibly let go. Is there anything going right
over at AMC these days? Perhaps the Executive Producer is not able to run the
show? I'm sorry but like so many fans I'm beyond frustrated. I'm tired of the
characters that disappear, are recast and the story lines that go absolutely no
where. There is no romance at all and again I say we are to suffer another "action
story line". I think we had enough of that with Proteus thank you very much.
I personally think they should start letting the fans write the show and I can
executive produce cause I feel at this point a complete novice couldn't screw
this show up as much as TPTB have done in the last year and a half! And having
ranted this long I still do not feel any better. The show plain sucks right now.
~ Bianca & Maggie's possible romance has been squashed. Yesterday's
episode summed up where the two stand romantically. Maggie's straight and Bianca
is gay. But they are both still friends. I questioned when Frankie was killed
off would this be a continual progress for Bianca to never have a relationship
in her supposed ground breaking story line. The answer was yes. After they brought
Binx out as gay they could have just integrated her into a romance but each time
the writers backed off. Huge waste of a this story. My other problem with the
the executives at AMC is that it was quoted in SOD that the fans would get what
they wanted with Maggie finally getting a romance. Did they poll any of the fans...BAM
has been growing on the Internet since Maggie came to Pine Valley. The fans aren't
getting the romance they want. They are getting a romance with Henry a new character.
After months and months of investment in this story as well as countless other
NON-Romances we are again denied the love. Instead after having endured the painful
and non-entertaining Proteus fiasco we are now going to be embroiled in the Aidan/Fiona
mystery. Go back to the social issues please because I've just about had it with
this Luke and Laura wanna be garbage. ~ ~ Hey everybody the leather pants
are back! Wahoo! It seems that Kendall was hiding them and she broke them out
for yesterdays big power meeting. I should have know that the leather would have
helped her think. ~ ~ I know that wardrobe has been a specific target
of my rants but I want to give them Kudos on Liza's clothes these days. She's
been looking great. For awhile they had her dressing all dowdy. Please this woman
is a Corporate Gal and a multimillionaire. She can afford spunky but classy threads.
And this little diatribe brings me to Anna...please give this woman another color
to wear. She's been in black too long. Yes it's an elegant color but not when
you wear it every day. It then loses it's special quality And the beige coat is
not really what I consider adding color. ~ ~ Yeah for bringing back some
comedy to the show. Loved the Therapy session at the Chandler Mansion. It also
makes us feel for these two love birds from hell. I think their love can be redeemed.
~ ~ Do you think Tad will get a story line anytime soon? Just wondering?
And how about Bianca...perhaps she'll get a scene where she isn't following behind
Erica. My hope is that the new writing team will bring back that strong willed
girl that came out to her mother and ruined Christmas in 2000. lol. It was powerful
story telling like that we need to see again. ~ ~ Who has the leather
pants? If you've noticed since Leo's demise that the leather pants have gone with
him. Was he keeper of all the leather in Pine Valley? Inquiring minds want to
know. ~ ~ Paging Casting...what have you been drinking lately. This evaluation
isn't a dig at the actor that was cast to play the part this is directed at the
casting department for making a mistake in casting. Jonathan Bennett was a hard
replacement for Jesse McCarthy whom we all loved but he was a good cast. This
new JR struggles with his lines and isn't really believable in the part. The new
"younger group" is a series of strange casts thrown at us. It was more
believable and more fun to watch with Shannon and Mindy and Marcus they weren't
principle characters but could have easily become then next Liza Colby. Back to
the drawing board CD. ~ ~ Kendall gets naked more than anyone else on
the show...just an observation, lol.~ ~ What's with everyone bashing
Bianca? Where's the love baby?! ~ ~ Okay the girl who plays Laurie's
acting is getting much better but this new JR is really getting to me...again
I have nothing against the actor but in this part...bad casting. ~ ~Kudos
on the pairing of Kendall and Greenlee. I'm looking to the months ahead with these
two in business together, lol ~ ~ Aidan Turner did such a great job when
he was all shot and in pain. I was really into his story with Maureen then. Good
Job All! ~
